  • Awesome Jason! So much has changed Bordens used to be on Steinway & 35 Ave as was the Astoria Theater on 30th and Steinway All are gone.....

  • The house I live in now in Astoria was an empty lot up until 1960 when it was built.!

  • I'm not so sure you are correct, the archive photo had it listed as North Beach.

  • Great job, Jason, for capturing the "spirit of Astoria", but that's not "North Beach" in the photo. That's Shore Boulevard and Astoria Park. "North Beach" was a big swimming/amusement area where the present-day LaGuardia Airport is located.

  • FANTASTIC!! It was awesome to see my old neighborhood! I loved the precious blood church scene, went to school there! :)

  • first house listed is up the block from mine

  • Thank you for posting this video. My family are Astorians since the early 1900's and know well what the old photographs are. I sadly moved to Elmhurst, NY in 1998 but go home often. I grew up on 43rd St between Broadway & 31st Avenue. Well done and thanks for the memories.

  • Grew up on 29th Street betw. 23rd & 24th Avenues - across from P.S. 85 Elementary School and Bohemian Hall. Left NY 1982 - and miss all the good things about Astoria - like LaGuli's spumoni ice, Rizzo's pizza, Steinway Street shopping - really miss outdoor shopping like Steinway Street - not fond of indoor Malls.

  • WOW. I lived in Astoria from 1969 to 1980 on 30th avenue... Since then I live in Europe. Well done! Brought a few tears to my eyes.. can't wait to visit Astoria again and remember the good old '70s when I was a kid.
