@Philly2002 To the best of my knowledgeno.Last I heard, some of the happy Days cast members were upset with CBS who released the first 4 seasons on DVD.
I think Ted McGinley should come with a warning label when you see him on a favorite show (maybe present day its Will Ferrell) Be very afraid that your favorite show is about to go off the air!
When Richie and Ralph left, i started watching it for Joanie and Chachi, but didn't really like this season since they where even gone until season 11
its interesting to note that originally the 'Fonz' character was going to be a minor character and did not do alot. He turned out to be the most popular character in the series =D
@retrofann1 John was another extremely gifted actor. The TV shows of today don't compare to the ones of yesteryear! thanks for your great comments! Mike.
It was a shame that Erin Moran couldn't get any decent work after the cancelation of Happy Days. But, no, she had to live with that terror of a husband that held her back for so many years.
Well just so ya know, Linda Purl, Scott Baio and Tom Bosley would later work with Television Executives Dean Hargrove & Fred Silverman
Linda Purl worked w/Hargrove & Silverman on the set of the very 1st Season of Matlock as Ben's Daughter Charlene, Scott Baio would work w/Hargrove & Silverman on the set of Diagnosis Murder and Tom Bosley would play the role of Chicago Catholic Priest Father James Dowling in the TV Series Father Dowling Mysteries.
Poltergeist girl, Jefferson Darcy, Phil Silvers' daughter, some chick I never heard of and Fonzie wearing the infamous black t-shirt to help hide his gut. No, this show didn't go 3 or 4 seasons too long.
@snake063 No, the beginning of the end is when the old Arnold's burned down, the condition worsened when Richie left, entered its terminal stage in Season 10, and died--albeit in good spirits in hospice care--with Season 11.
@snake063 and the penultimate end of 2 of HD's other existing spin-off shows in the popular "Laverne and Shirley" (by this time Cindy Williams got preggo and was fired from the show) and "Joanie Loves Chachi."
9-30-2009. Happy Birthday, Crystal. Or can I call you KC. Mikki, maybe? This show will go down as one of my all-time favorites. I know that it was on its last legs when you joined the cast, but I still enjoyed you. Thanks for the memories.
Linda Purl played 2 different characters on Happy Days. during the first season she played "Gloria" Ritchie's G/F and season 10 she played Fonzie's G/F Ashley...
One sign that a show is past its prime- Ted McGinley is in the cast. He later joined the Love Boat and Married With Children for the last few seasons of those shows (although I have to admit his Married With Children charcter Jefferson was a riot. I wonder if the Jefferson charcter is named after Jefferson High School on Happy Days. Maybe, I guess).
Man, today's episode was funny. Called 'Wild Blue Yonder', it was about Roger and Fonzie taking a small plane ride from Milwaukee to Minnesota to a teacher's convention. It appears to be spring time, as there's no snow, yet they somehow end up flying flew what looks like the snow covered Rocky Mountains! Last time I checked, there weren't any huge mountains between Milwaukee and Minnesota. I think even the plane was anachronistic. LOL, Garry Marshall must have been senile on this story.
I was watching reruns of Season 10 recently, and I noticed that for the Christmas episode for this season, the theme song was changed. The lead singer sounded different, and even the melody was slightly altered, or maybe it was the key. Either way, it sounded horrible. Was the theme song supposed to change mid-season, but got changed back when it didn't get a good reception for the Christmas episode?
I just remembered that it wasn't just the song that changed. The visuals also changed. For example, it starts off with a juke box with colourful flashing lights. Then they show cast members in their younger age and then current age. For example, Joannie as a kid gets knocked down from a seat she's sharing with Mr. C, but then when he picks her up, she's an adult. A similar sequence with Fonzie and Chachi at the garage.
The intro that you are thinking of is actually from season 11, not 10. The intro with the different singer and Joanie getting knocked by Howard was used for the entire 11th season. If you want to see it just search YouTube for "Happy Days season 11".
I checked it out and it's the same intro as the Season 10 Christmas episode that I saw. I recorded, and just checked it out, and it definitely has the Season 11 intro. Someone must have goofed up when they sent out the episode in syndication, editing on that other season's intro onto the season 10 episode. I know its from Season 10 because it starts off in Arnolds with Arnold in a Santa outfit, and Heather O'Rourke & Fonzie show up.
He was awesome in The Beauty and The Beast musical as Belle's father. I was there when it first show the original actors from the Broadway version in 1994.
Isn't there another season 10 intro that included Crystal Bernard, Billy Warlock, and Heather O'Rourke in them? I could have sworn I've seen them somewhere.
You most likey saw them get special billing in the ending credits. Just like Cathy Silvers and Ted McGinley in seasons 8 and 9, in season 10 Crystal Bernard, Billy Warlock, and Heather O'Rourke were all credited with their pictures and "also co-starring" titles in the ending credits.
It is fortunate that you were a baby uring Joanie Loves Chachi, I myself was 17 going on 18. I watched every episode, but thankfully I don't remember any episodes. It was so bad that Gary Marshall demanded that they quit the show and go back to Milwaukee
Joanie Loves Chachi, ironically, was a 1st Season hit in the Nielsen rating. But when it changed the timeslot in the 2nd season, the ratings dropped considerably.
Cathy Silvers, Jenny Picollo, Joanie's promiscuous off-camera character becomes a regular! The show was definitely doomed at this point but still very loveable.
Ron Howard and Linda Purl worked with TV Legends Andy Griffith and Henry Winkler
They both starred in Happy Days, but Ron is also best known as Andy's Son Opie Taylor on The Andy Griffith Show and Linda worked with Andy on the set of the 1st Season of the Hit TV Series Matlock which became Andy's 1st Hit Show since The Andy Griffith Show, but Andy also starred in the short lived Drama called Headmaster.
Gotta love that Happy Days reference in Married With Children. They did that as an in-joke. Actually, what killed Married With Children is Seven, but he was dealt with no explanation and wad never seen again.
@megamanj2004X Poor Ted McGInley has such a bad rap. It's not his fault the producers of both The Love Boat and Happy Days brought him along when their ratings were already in the toilet due to cast changes & overexposure.
My this Season's cast was REALLY trimmed down. But Ted McGinley IS SO HOT! Cathy Silvers was my fave, her perky voice and cheerfulness always entertained me!
Could be a manufactured memory, since Warlock didn't join the cast until season 10 (which is also when Ted McGinley and Cathy Silvers were added to the opening credits).
You notice that both Erin Moran and Scott Baio went on to do Joanie Loves Chachi since they are not present here. They'll return for the last season, though.
So, that wasnt he intro. That was just the theme song.....

If he's the TV show death, then why did Married with Children lasted more six seasons w/ him around?
And Happy Days was already in a ratings slump when Ron Howard left and even before Ted McGinley came along.

Scott Baio and Erin Moran make special guest appearances during season 10, you know.

You notice that both Erin Moran and Scott Baio went on to do Joanie Loves Chachi since they are not present here. They'll return for the last season, though.
