It's hardly 'very popular' about 2 or 3 songs have seen any form of mainstream success, benga and coki night was played on the radio but tbh I never even heard it at the time... And that skream remix of la roux got pretty big but 99% of people didn't even know they were listening to dubstep. And if it does go mainsteam? well, I'm starting to dig it... I personally got kinda fed up with DnB cuz too many DJs were playing it at +6% or faster and ruining all the basslines. DnB is already fast and if you speed it up too fast it just starts to sound retarded and ruins the effect of the bassline. Most DnB doesn't need to be played at more than +2 or 3% and some, especially chill DnB, even sounds better slowed down a few percent.

Yeh there's loads of similar stuff minus the fast drum beats.

There's some compilations called Box of Dub (I think) on the Soul Jazz label which has got more dubby stuff on.

If you live within night-out distance of Leeds I recommend you check out Sub Dub at the West Indian centre for the Exodus DMZ night. Next one is 30th May.
