  • Nice busted nut..

  • Poulin preamps <3 I got that tip from you a long time ago - cheers! I'll be watching through the whole series, and probably posting it on the Obliteration forums. Thanks for taking the time for this!

  • love you videos man, thanks!

  • Hey man, i run my podx3 live through a carvin power amp and an orange 2 x 12. Do you have any suggestions in terms of mic choice and cab simulation (do you turn it off when playing through amps)... and anything else that might be important. I just find my tone really squeeky and harsh. my band is escapistofficial . com ... (was recording on axe tho)

  • @Noahguitar if you record with a real cab you don´t need cab simulation or IR´s. just get a good mic - the shure SM57 is a very good standard model - find a nice placement on the speaker, get a mixer to plug the mic into and you should be good to go. you can watch part 3 to see how i use IR´s. i don´t have a real amp or cab so i´m bound to the digital world.

  • Cool, i have near zero latency but i think that's because i'm listening monitor our from my POD HD. I'm also using my POD as a soundcard, so any other output doesn't come out except through the pod. I saw the part 3 video, but i'm not sure how i can silence the regular output of my POD and make it so where i can use the 'monitor' function on my DAW. This is obviously for impulse use lol.

  • @XeroJager i tryed using my ASIO pod x3 drivers and doing the same thing as in part 3 but that wont work. you´ll always have the original signal without cab impulses coming through.

  • @MojoJojo378 I figured it out, in the ASIO Settings for the POD, there IS an option to turn the monitoring level of the POD output down so you can enable it back in the DAW. I can use impulses freely now :)

  • What sound difference is there when you record from the Live out from the USB out?

  • @XeroJager with the usb you don´t get extra noise created in the cabel going to your computer. through the usb connection your signal is also being send in digital format to your computer instead of analog but you barely hear a difference. i record with the live outs cause than i can use ASIO4ALL for less latencies (watch part 3 for that). if you use the usb connection you also need to use the ASIOpodx3 driver, which has higher latencies.

  • i know the secret tone is in the trashcan..

  • That trashcan adds such brutal tone. :P haha! Since you're selling both guitars, I would aim to sell the Ibanez first if you mostly play the Schecter. I sold the guitar I played the most first & man I regretted it.

  • @wickedexp thanks for the warning. i was pretty fixed on selling my schecter first so that info comes in handy :)

  • Hey, man, do you connect your output from your PODX3 straight into the line in your PC sound card? Don't you have latency issues doing that?

  • @TubeAmp89 yes i do - no i don´t. i use ASIO4ALL which processes the incoming guitar signal with a latency of about 8ms. it´s not noticeable when you play. but i´m still gonna shed a little light on that in part 3.

  • @MojoJojo378 I see. Thank you sir, I can't wait! :D

  • Lawl ur awesome.

  • LOL, the bed. great tool for slumbering and rest. I'm gonna need to pick up one of those.

  • yea, corelia!

  • Machs nochmal auf Deutsch.

  • Awesome man! Guess what plays every day in my car and makes me banging the shit outta my pants? ForTiorI!! Just want to ask what string gauge u use on your bass? Oh yeah, and im still experimenting with my mixes, but they get better and better, thanx for your help again BTW. Im having some trouble with my guitar tone right now. Im trying to find a nice sound with IRs (more sound detail), but every cab IR sounds very "sharp"/trebly. Do you know where that comes from? Remember, im using the AXE.

  • @Themethalmaster bass string gauges are .145 .110 .085 .070 .050 by dáddario. you don´t get it like that in a pack. i order those individually.

  • @Themethalmaster i also noticed the trebly tone with pretty much every IR i tried out. that´s why i like using the god´s cab impulse pack cause they put a tube screamer in the signal chain so the IR´s have a wicked mid boost.

  • @MojoJojo378 Oh well, i thought im the only one that gets that trebly sound. Where do you buy the strings for your bass? Saitenmarkt? Oh, and have you tried out the TSE BOD plugin? No need of bass amps/sims anymore, sounds just HUGE! But thats subjective of course :D

  • @Themethalmaster no i get my stings at rockshop. i haven´t tried TSE BOD yet. but i will when i get to it.

  • again, thank you so much for doing this. keep up the great work dude!

  • amazing job that you re doing, im looking for something like this all the time, you re awesome man revealing everything, showing and explaining each detail thats something we dont see everyday, must of the people hide everything, i think everybody wins with this attitude because growing double faster if they teach each other. A really Thank You... cant wait for the next ones... and sorry for my bad english not my native language too :P

  • I've gotta say that this is pretty good level of music really. Maybe a TINY TEENSY bit louder... But not much. :P Great tutorial!

  • I just wanna let you know, that new guitar rig 5 is not chabby anymore :D They improve it really much, i was using lepou plugins simulations, but now i use gr5 cause its much easier to tweak tones and less cpu performance. However love your tutorials, really looking forward for next parts :) cheers.

  • @Bilboslavus i said guitar rig is NOT too chabby. didn´t that come out right? otherwise i need to put another annotation there cause i don´t want to offend anyone.

  • @MojoJojo378 It came out clear enough for me, I think Bilboslavus is just hooking you up with some extra info ;)

  • @sderoij ah, good. i just needed to make sure.

  • @MojoJojo378 sorry then i didnt heard it correctly :) I was not offened, just thought you havent tried the new version yet

  • Good haircut. ;)

  • @DerCorny thanks. that was looong overdue.

  • Great video man, the tuners are Schecters own locking btw :p I've got some binding issues with mine too.

  • @OC616 ah, dammit, i´ll put that in the description.
