please remove vulgar comments re this music thnx!

  • @jrederburg your are disgusting!! This no place for your disregard of this music and your reprehensible language...!!!

  • Yes, I have the sheet music to "It a Highhway to Heaven" Words and Music by Thomas A. Dorsey.

  • Another one of my great favorites !!!! Thanks so much for posting! TJ

  • Does anyone have the sheet music to this song?

  • on the opening of the documentary Say Amen Somebody, the choir marched into this song...same tempo, but sped it up when the choir was in the choir stand.....

  • We used to march down the two isles and up to the choir loft singing this song from '59 to '62. I left for Germany in the Army and Billy Preston went to England and eventually worked with the Beatles.

Doris Akers sent Billy to Europe to polish his piano skills, only no one could improve what he, at the age of 17, could already do and while there, he met and colaberated with the Beatles. In '64 I was in a German bar and heard the group for the first time, but didn't know Billy was there.

  • @jrederburg How well I remember this processional when I attended the church from 1960-'63. You were so blessed to be in this choir with Doris. I can still remember Brother Sutton praying, Ms. Lee doing the devotional. When Doris and Shirley walked down the aisle you knew the choir would be next. I always sat on the front row left side so I could watch Doris...I had the joy of meeting her years later when she and her brother ministered in Los Angeles..Days I will never forget..

  • @promo6p It's so crazy to get on here and read these stories. My Great Grandpa is Brother Sutton! My Grandma is Darlene and her sister Shirley! These songs bring back the best memories!

  • @promo6p Hello, my name is Don. I grew up with the later version of The Sky Pilot Choir when it was led by Shirley Mayes at Buena Park Community Church in the early to mid '70's. I wonder if this is the same Shirley you referred to in your post? I found that Pastor Joseph Raculia, who had taken over the Sky Pilot ministry passed away Dec. 26, 2006. I know some of what happened to Shirley, she was a wonderful person.

  • Can't wait to sing with this wonderful choir!

  • The Choir group of their time!

  • that's a pretty high key for this one, but Sky Pilot choir makes it work. Wonderful processional for that choir, and for ours, at Glad Tidings Temple, Vancouver, Canada, in its day

  • AGAIN, this is another song i grew up listening to and singin, WITH A MORE UPBEAT TEMPO, but nevertheless, the lyrics are anointed and the SONG tells the truth!
