My father liked Jim Reeves and I use to listen to him sometimes but as I grew up started to listen to more country and I found that Jim Reeves was one of the best.
No matter what he sang it was exceptional. Thank you for having this channel, I found it awhile back and am on your friends.

My Dad sung this song to my mother just before he died 04/14/2010. This would be good song to play at his funeral but it might make too many people cry especially my mother.

@whiteboard66 I intend to have this played at my funeral (I am 80 years old) and it will be especially for my three children and what I wish for them. It was the first song I ever heard sung by Jim Reeves and it has remained my favorite of all that he has recorded.

This is the song we used to sing on the last day of school each year before we closed down for vacation. It brings back fond memories and moist eyes for Mother Joseph Michael who taught us the song. (Hope you are resting peacefully in the happy grounds under the care of God. )

Meredith Willson (Musical Director for "The Big Show") wrote "May the Good Lord Bless and Keep You" for Tallulah Bankhead to use at the close of her popular Radio Show. She later likened the song to a Hymn, and was always indebted to Meredith Willson for dedicating this song to her. What a charming and loving song for Tallulah Bankhead's radio program, "The Big Show". A shame this song could not be sung today, but how lucky for Tallulah Bankhead to have this personal dedication!

This song was written by Meredith Willson (composer of "The Music Man") and dedicated to Tallulah Bankhead for her popular Radio Show, "The Big Show's" ending with Tallulah singing the first verse and each of the show's guests singing all the verses until the song is finished. What a glorious benediction! Such an ending for a radio or television show today would never be allowed, as it would not be politically correct.

Jim Reeves' voice reminds me of a time when the world was still innocent and there was so much love instead of the bad times we are going through now.
