OMG, being Italian (born and living in northern Italy) is so funny to see how they speak and pronounce italian words... Immediatamente: can't stop laughing! Even for the overemphasized reactions. Is this really the way americans and canadians look at italians?
We actually “get it from the mothers side”, at least one type of homosexuality (as there are many) is inherited from the mothers side on the X chromosome.
@Shweta1509 It is my experience that parents are extremely interested in who “tops” since many gays are preoccupied with upholding this horrible delusion that there is such a thing as an “exclusive top or bottom”. When in fact the vast majority of gays will at one time or another “perform” both roles. Of course one can understand why. In many heterosexual relationships men and women have certain roles that are related to their “position” and some gays imitate this “game”.

The saddest thing is that in South Italy someone is really like that... and in North Italy it's not that much different, there's just a little less ignorance.
Actually it is more of an immigrant Italian, this is the mentality of old fashioned Italians who left Italy when Italy was still "traditional Italy". I am from the south and southern Italians are generally extremely liberal people. The truly sad thing is that anti-gay ideas are alive everywhere, in Italy, the US and the rest of the world!
