  • hey neodorian, i have a cuestion that is "related" whit the video: i have the same Cpu, same M'B, ram just 667. but how do you manage to get 2.4ghz? i just got 2.03(in 290) whit no voltage added, i was using 292 but got problems. do you have the stock cooler??? sorry is sort of not related to the video, but thanks!

  • have you tried gentoo? I have kubuntu on my lappy but i was thinking about trying gentoo (my friend is crazy about it for some reason)...

  • I've used it before. I've got ubuntu on my laptop because it's got no CD drive and there is a simple windows-based installer for it (Wubi) that lets me install without a CD.

  • don't have a pro video editing? you need to search better. Or if not try to learn about wine or cedega and they do.

  • Yeah I've since found something decent and I can always use Wine like you said. Either way, XP still has better native video editing apps so far. I just use what's best for the job. I've also had plenty of issues with ubuntu so it's not as if it's without flaw. I'm mostly trying to become more familiar with it now in advance of it improving to the point where it can seriously compete with Windows and OSX on the desktop. Almost there.

  • I guess that you have an Nvidia graphics card =\. I want my linux distro's to work...but they don't because i have an ATI card...reccomend buying Nvidia?

  • I just bought nvidia when I built me recent desktop because I got a good deal on a 7900gs. I have had zero problems with it and it is a great value.

  • hey man, just looked at your video, loved it so that i went and installed Kubuntu. Now how do i install the beryl package?

  • Upload this settings file plzzz. im to stupid to make one myself.

  • Not sure what you need. I just installed the beryl package and then messed about in the settings to change the way it looked.

It doesn't get much easier than that.

  • Vista is owned again.

  • At least in eye candy. There are a lot of things I still can't do in Kubuntu. Some of those are because I haven't learned how yet and some of them are just things that aren't available yet like pro video editing. Still, as a regular desktop environment it's working out well, even for a noob like myself.

  • Oh and I wouldn't use vista anyway. This and XP work great for me.
