Interesting concept. Seems similar to what was illistrated in Mission Impossible 3. The problem with this type of cloaking is that you have to constantly change the angle of reflection depending on the point of view. It becomes more of a problem the closer you get, but not a big problem when looking at a distant object. It'll be a good while before this technology can be adapted for warfare IMO, but I could be wrong and they may already be using it.

So it wouldn't make sense if you could see through it. If you listened properly the guy said "material applied to anything".... 'applied' means.. the material is placed on what you want to be transparent.
