  • nice it sounds like areall choper

  • Hey bud, don't know if you like planes, but a nice cheap little thing will help you learn how to fly nose in. I have an Air Rage, twin pusher foamy with dihedral wings. As well i learned to fly with a three channel apache by Cobra Toys, the 9088. It was great to get the hang of nose in flight. I have a Honey Bee King 2 now and nose in flight is easy. Give it a try. Check out my videos.

    Cheers

  • what range can you fly these away from the controller

  • quite further than anybody can keep with the heli's orientation...

  • with full range Ghz, as far as possible untill you cant see it.

  • warnher i agree to what Darthbelal said, i learn my heli flying on the flight simulator (G4.5, cool sim, try it out) before even buying a heli. it will save you tonnes of money, now flying the trexx 600 and it feels great

  • why did u get this helicoter

  • I tried flying a helicopter on a computer sim, if you've never done it, you have no idea just how hard it is. Thank GOD I didn't get the real thing first........

  • Ya Im gonna go the computur simulator way first also. Its more then i want to spend but i think in the long run im gonna save money.

  • good move, warnher, unless you enjoy spending a LOT of money on RC parts and possibly a new helicopter, go with the RC simulator route. You can crash helicopters on a sim all day long and, at the click of a button, you have a brand new helicopter. Go virtual until you get good at flying RC helicopters AND are a little bored with it before plunking down the cash on a real copter.

  • @Darthbelal ... its much easier with the real one XD.. i think.. for me it is :D

  • can you tell me the model of this helicopter? i'm guessing a raptor 60 or 90

  • raptor mk1 30

  • Hoovering above the cameraman is very dangerous ! especially as you are a begineer too! Have you ever seen the baldes coming off of one those things! ?

  • It wasnt above the camera man, thats the zoom on the video.

The cameraman was well behind me at all times. But yes helis are dangerous, so is paragliding, and motorbikes .....

  • Do you got any idea what r you talking about? shore you r a plain flayer .... go to BMFA records and tell me how must people as bee heart or killed by a remote control helicopter ? dumb ass...

the same you cant be sayd about the plains

  • haven't seen a blade come off but some guy got hit in the back of the head...and died in hong kong.

  • @dougzx1 you call that beginner? hes a pro, and dude its not dangerous.. the blades wont break at mid air.. -.-

  • Hi, I'm a n00b when it comes to RCs. What kind of range does the remote have? How far can you send your Heli before it 'looses' the signal. Also, how much time can it operate before you have to refill the tank (or recharge? lol) I'd like to use one for a project of mine. tanx

  • An RC helicopter is million times harder to control than you could imagine, so if your intention is to simply buy one, put it together and go fly, you are going to be very disappointed when you crash seconds into your first flight. If you are serious on the other hand, buy a simulator (Reflex or Realfight G4) and get practicing so you can decide if helicopter's are really for you, before you decide buy one. There is wealth of information on the web, none which you will find in youtube comments.

  • I respect your hobby-seriousness but the fact remains you did not answer my questions... First, I really would like to know what are the longest run (time) any RC Heli can do and the range it can reach. And I seek your 'opinion' as a head start before googling it all. Thanks.

  • It really depends on far you want to go, realistically, using Hobby grade equipment a RC helicopter has a maximum flight time of 10-20 minutes. and the maximum radio range is around 1500 feet.

On the other hand if you want to know the extremes, the world record for a model helicopter flight is over one hour, also there are radio's with ranges of over 20km and so, but these require a amateur radio license to use.

This stuff is all dependent on how far you are willing, or need to go.

  • :) I like your attitude! '...all dependent on how far you are willing, or need to go'

I would love to attach a long range wireless camera to one of these and fly it around my 'chalet' thus the range and autonomy questions.

  • is that engine new ?

if not turn you needle in it sounds abit rich

  • 10 points you r right lol

  • u can see the ground effect on

    0:14

  • isn't it WAY TOO MUCH RPM'S FOR THAT FLIGHT?

    your motor screams ,do something!!!

  • a brillaint copter £1,000 isn't it

  • This was second hand about 300 quid for the lot, but have spent the same again on new engine and repairs, new gyro( heading hold- see crash vid as I set it up!) faster rudder servo, numours rotor blades and tail booms ect

  • £600 then wow still alot

  • just for info purposes this is how i have my throttle curves set (its an OS 50- hyper)

    (where INH is the mid value between 2 points) L 1 2 3 H

    Normal mode:0 (INH) 27% 41% 52%

    Idle up 1: 0 (INH) 38%(INH)76%

    Idle up 2: 100(INH) 50%(INH)100%

(the idle up 2 curve is for 3d and inverted flight) and you should really have a throttle governor for that kinda stuff.

    hope that helps

  • do you know anybody with an optical tachograph?

for mild hovering flight you should be around 1700rpm. then on idle up up to about 1900.

with the head speed so high for basic flight the engine is doing far too much work for the loads imposed on it. (it won't last long)

think of it like a car engine.. if you rev them high you do damege.

as a good starting point just drop the throttle curve a bit in normal mode. (say about 30% mid to about 55% high throttle position)

  • by the time you buy the kit, servos, engine and electronics you're looking at close to £800-£900

byt the way , your headspeed sounds WAY too high for . (is it a 30 or a 50? hard to tell from the vid)

  • Old second hand raptor 30, then new os37 engine, later new gyro 401 and high speed rudder servo, did crash badly when I attempted to set up gyro ( see other vid gyro set up and crash)but last time I flew all seemed ok)I am self taught and have had other comments about head speed, Dont realy know what one should sound like.. but will turn it down for next flight, thanks for the comment.

  • how much are those?

  • When i bought my raptor 90. id never flown a heli before. and i did it without aidskids. thinking back now...i would have done it with the skids...although i did have a perfect flight all in all. i guess it helps having experiance with airplanes first. however, its not the same since you have that mobility with an heli.

  • Super teil kollege der gefällt mir

  • Erg tof.......

  • Bought the heli in december, think it was early january, but spent 20 hours on simmulator, I would get someone who can fly helis to check the trim, especialy the tail rotor, if its trimmed well you will find learning to hover easier, if you have to fight to hover the risk of damage increases on the first flights, keep the tail pionting at you!!and keep it low.

  • I got a raptor 50 Nitro a few days ago and am trying to fly with training gear how long were you before you took it off

  • If at tick over the rotors are trying to turn with some force the clutch is a bit tight, There will always be a bit of drag, but if the blades are in the clip that should hold this. if they are turning into your starter you will have to look at the clutch they do crack with use. On a thunder tiger you drop the engine off and the clutch comes out with the engine on the end of the shart, the friction lining is on the inside of the bell housing still in the chopper

  • hey i got a nitro heli a few days ago a nexus 30 to be exact. i started it up and ive never flown or opperated a nitro chopper before or ever used a simulator. how do i adjust the heli so the props dont spin when i start it/?

  • if they just start spining slowly then just hold the blades or turn down the throttle on ur controller

  • Ah Yes! Remember it well the first time without the training aids - They told me 'plenty of smoke and head speed you'll be fine' until the wind took it and it was looking at me ! but I landed it OK - once you get the bug you'll be out everyday buddy ! Great Vid !

  • Set the throttle trim so if you shut down the trim it closes completly the throttle, I set mine so the trim is in the middle for idle

  • how do you turn a nitro heli off?

    to run out the fuel?

  • for someone relatively new to the game you fly well. I have been flying helicopters for many years, and the only bit of advice for you is....get a better camera man...lmao. great video mate.

  • I bought Great Plane's "Real Flight" simulator before flying my Nexas. After about a week of R.F. my Nexas was easy. I looked like a PRO from day 1.

  • nice but hover speeding

  • WOW!!!! I love the paintjob!! I think I'm going to get into heli's next... right now I have a Piper Cub... great fun they are!

  • I used a software simmulator for 2 months before flying, I recommend this.Gets you used to your actual transmitter and learn to hover and recover, and land where you want to! Most transmitters can be connected with a dongle to usb...Saves a lot of money!!

  • I might try that... sounds like a great idea and seems to have worked for you!!! Do you know what its called?

  • I bought areofly proffesional delux which works with my futaba fine, any good model shop will advise. Both fixed wing and helis are supported, good for practising some manouvers too. I think the cost was 100 pounds english ish, but it saved me more than that in crashes.....Oh Im self taught but a club would be helpfull as transmitters have a buddy system so your club instructor can save the day....all good fun.

  • did you juse reflex?. i think your flying skills are good for only 2 months practis. i have reflex i fly planes but not helis becaus i have some adjustment problems. the hole helicopter shakes. do you have some adjustment tips? i have an optic6 to my simulator.

  • If your rotors are to tight in the grips that will cause the heli to shake, also I found the training cross thing also caused oscillations, Havent flown it for a while so i will go back on my sim for a bit first.

If the tail wags the gryo gains too high!

    Hope this helps.

  • Nice heli dont crash it

  • Sweet man. Your getting there. I just got mine and can't wait to start flying it. I just picked up a sick controller with all digital servos for 300 bucks. Good luck...

  • That tall grass sucks huh?

I was trying to learn with a defective OS .37 carb since I got my gas heli nearly a year ago. Just a few weeks ago I found the problem and got a replacment. Now I can learn stuff without all the engine probs. I was afraid to fly cause it was always giving me trouble. Check my Hirobo vids out!

  • That wouldnt be a bad mower LOL

  • The head speed is too high

  • Thanks, New engine os 37, also found it running a bit lean. Richened mixture to about 1 3/4 turns. Set up 0-12 degress beginer settings, It is easier to fly now, did find it a bit twitchy, My camera man is out of action so no videos for a while.

    Thanks for the advice

    Barrie

  • I just got myself a 37 but I boomstruck (small ding in the boom ) when i did an auto thanks to the soft dampers on the v1. Yours LOOks like a v1 but heck I DID miss the lean part before so if you want to do any autos or flips I suggest you get stiffer dampers with something to space them properly on the v1 spindle which is 1 mil smaller. Have fun!

  • take a look at my flights with my chopper

  • nice flying

  • Its a thundertiger V1 with an os 37 engine

  • nice heli
