  • Don't you install an earth electrode as parrt of your installation?

  • Hi,

In a TN-C-S installation the earth provision is supplied by the supply company, for many new builds this won't happen until after the Elecftrical Installation has been installed. In theory you are also supposed to provide them with a partially completed Electrical Installation Certificate before they will connect the supply (In Theory! :))

  • @learninglounge Thats lunacy! We are required to provide the earth here in Australia. We can even get level 2 certification and connect to the supply.

  • lol fluke, megger, ha ha, try kewtech, kt-64 or kt-65 the guy who designed the fluke, then went to robin/ kewtech with all the feed back he had of sparkys, made the kt-64, the guys name if u dont believe me, which is fair enough is paul rutter, check it out

  • can you use a insulation resistance tester on a AC motor anyone??

  • @andyEFC09 Yes. Megger testing is the best way to check a motor.

  • speak slower and swap that megger for a fluke.

  • In Jamaica it required that all installations have its own earth continuity system. A 6 feet copper rod is driven into the ground and is connected via a "earth lead" to earthing system in the main panel.
