  • You don't need a mod. It's called a proper EQ. Try learning to use your amp settings more. You will find it tough to get the JCM sound from a Fender amp due to the scoop at 400 Hz. The mid-range punch is because there is NO scoop in the EQ.

    No mods needed. :P

  • i have the exact same cables as you...i HATE them, they constantly tangle (even if ur stood still) (and i keep them nice and neetly stored...not in a knot), and the spring looking bits annoy me, plus the things keep falling apart (cause the stupid cable can somehow unsrew its self until its in pieces) do you get this aswell?

  • @Kangaroopoo007 = I have the same cables including the microphone hotlines too, they are pretty bad and dont last.. if you put a very small piece of tape on the jack threads its stops them from unscrewing on there own...

  • man if you put hte mxr zakk wydle overdrive with this it would sound awesome it still is awesome but the overdrive would sound awesome

  • nice sounds like a great smooth overdrivey distortion with great picking dynamics....gotta try one!

  • This does not sound very good.

  • @edvhou812 = Awesome.... Glad you like it!

  • @MotoMotoSSB hahahahaha

  • hello do you have schematic?

  • what did you put in for D4 and D5? red LED's? I was gonna try a couple of IN4002's

  • wow, that mod sound amazing!

  • is it like the keeley mod?

  • no. not at all.. if you want to covert a DS-1 to the keeley mod, P.M me and il send you the link...

  • Uh actually i sent my DS1 for keeley mod about a couple of weeks ago. But i'm just wondered it would be similar to this one or not.

  • no.. the keely mod is very different... much more bass and a little smoother, its great for leads but i found it a bit odd sounding for chording.... but may be better with your gear...

  • please send me link ds-1 to marshall jcm..hehehe

  • could i do this without changing the led color since i have a warranty with guitar center for this pedal XP

  • its rare that a boss pedal with fail on you within a few years but by changing ANY components will void your warranty. if you concerned about it you could always find a cheap second hand DS1 to mod

  • yeah i was wondering if i changed the components and kept the old ones and if it dies on me i can always resolder the old ones back and get a new one lol

  • good call dude... the solder work on these pedals isn't that clean anyways so they would never know.. check out the link in the info box to the stages mine went though, it would take me a while to change all components back to stock.. lol

  • Did you also put 1k at R13 and at C8 a 1uf, like in the ,,optional" wampler jcm mod?

  • yes is did... you can check out the how id did everything if you click on the link in the INFO to the right, i documented everything on the sixstringbliss forum, pic's vids and all the info you need...

  • i already did it, and other pedals.... I just asked because, i reverted back to stock at the ,,optional" gain thing, because it sounds awful with gain at 10, very flubby and unrealistic. Thanks for the reply!

  • i know exactly what you mean.. but i did tweek the C3 a bit more, i cant remember what values i did because it has a hell of a lot more mods to it including changing every resistor to metal film resistors and every capacitor i could change to film caps with tighter tolarence, but i manage to correct the flabby bass some how.. sounds good now...

  • sounds good.. is this brian wampler's jcm mod?

  • Yah...
