  • Did you do the vent lines to your carburatorand axles

  • @myuncleshouse Yep I did, it really needs to be done especially the crank case breather on top the engine.

  • at the end it was roped to the other atv

  • I don't view this as a test because the whole air box needs to go under water, so really the seat needs to go under. i have a bayou 250 and went through water as deep as that maybe a tad bit deeper without a snorkel so to really test it, get the seat under water =)

  • @SaberWolf1900 At 24 to 27 seconds on the video the quad dug in, and submerged the seat and air box. It sat there and ran until I towed him out. So yes, it did go under, and no there was no water in the air box afterwards.

  • @Yellowdog02 Ah i see now, ok thanks for pointing that out to me =)

  • even if you have the snorkel do you still have to keep water out the exhaust.

  • @TheViZionZinHD

Not so long as you keep it running, the problem you run into is if it shuts off, the water will make its way back up the exhaust pipe. The next time you crank it, it may suck water into the engine causing it to hydro lock.

  • As far as water proofing any of the other electrical components, like the coil and all the other connections, did you need to do that? Or are they pretty well sealed from the factory? Im gonna tackle this job this weekend hopefully, if my piston rings get delivered.

  • @Dylan000021

Yes I did and yes, I would silicone every connector you can, it can only help.

  • 5 hrs is unresonable. ive pulled motors out of several machines ive owned to replace valves and that only took me 3 hrs just because i couldnt find a spring compressor that would fit in the head. it is really easy

  • that is not a creek crossing that a dadgum river

  • hey man, sorry for all the questions, but you seem like you know your stuff. i was riding my bayou today and it randomly shut off. i took the seat off and started it but when i put the seat back on it cut off again. it'll only run with the airbox cover on or the seat off. is it not getting enough air because its too lean or rich?? any suggestions?

  • thats C.A.W

  • did you have to re-jet the carb? i snorkeled my 500 vinson and it needed to be re-jetted. the 250 bayou is my next project.going to try 2" pipe instead of 1.5" though

  • @pewtato

Yes, the details are on My (Bayou snorkel build part 2) video, it may help you out.

  • @pewtato i have a 500 vinson too.. they arent hard at all to snorkel.. im surprised u had to re jet it

  • hey i got another question. i took my bayou 250 to the shop and they said it needs a head gasket replaced because it leaks oil outta the head. they said it would take 5hrs. is that usual? do you have to take the entire engine out to replace a head gasket?

    please reply,

    thanks!

  • @quadman0928

Man, I've never had to do that before.. but 5 hours sounds reasonable if the engine has to come out, my guess would be yes. I would take the engine out if I had to do something like that.

  • @quadman0928 im not a machanic but i think u have to take the whole engine apart to fix the head gaskit and it would probably take atleast 2days tops

  • @craffray12

I'm running 23 inch tires front and rear. I haven't had any rubbing issues.

  • is this at carolina adventure world?? and btw thanks for the vid on how to make a snorkle for the bayou!

  • @quadman0928

Yep it sure was, and your welcome on the snorkel videos.

  • dang i wish my bayou was like that

  • what kind of tires u got on the bayou

  • nice great vid
