Norah is a very talented artist, can't think of anything she does that I don't like. heard some gripes about her newer stuff. to me it just shows how versitile she is. you go norah!
HanK Williams the very best songwriter to live at 29 he died in my hometown.Norah is one of the few singers/musicians that can do justice to the GREAT Hank Williams songs. Greatness is timeless. It's like Time in a Bottle .It lasts forever.
To all the fruitloops and berryloops out there... Hank Williams wrote country songs. And as long as Norah doesn't forget who she is then all is well in the world. This song was a B-side for Tony Bennet that turned into a million seller. THIS version, however, is just the ticket. [innit?]
you should be ashamed to be a 'music fan' if you don't even know the legends. I am 21 and I love Hank!! and people insulting Hank when she can only sing this song because of him..seriously. idiots.
Hank Williams was a giant in country music long before your time. He wrote this song and many more that could literally tear at your heart. I like Norah's version. His was totally different but still excellent for the time.
I agree with abbyfanduby, you can't begin to compare Norah and Hank. They are both good versions of an extremely well-written song. I don't think this one can be considered an 'insult' as bleedingeyes08 said, but a tribute. I don't think Hank would have any problem with this - at least this girl appreciates the roots of her music and isn't frightened to tip her hat. Thanks for posting!
Comparing Hank Williams to Norah Jones is like comparing... apples and bananas! True they are both fruit, but two DIFFERNT fruits of differnt eras. Norah and Hank are both music artist, ut 2 waaaay different artists of different eras. They just happend to do the same song. Both versions are fantastic, depending on what veiwpoint you are looking through. :)
@abbyfanduby i completely agree with you except they didnt just happened to do the same song. Hank Williams wrote this song and norah just happened to cover.
i will remember her. but, if she is forgotten by the masses...there will be one and many who will discover this little gem. just like i did with hank williams.
I just now realized that this song is in the Google Doodle...

There is no second song without the first version. Credit and respect are due to the original no matter how we like the succeeding singers.

Hank Williams' version is so much better. This is shit. . .and an insult to a TRUE legend.
bleedingeyes08 1 year ago
@bleedingeyes08 The "true legend" turned into annoying crooning really fast.

@Csp499 In 50 years no one is going to give a shit about Norah Jones. Hank Williams' legacy will live on forever.
