I love yiddish.;;; yiddish is not dead. There are still 2 million at least ,people who speak it, and a growig number of people who learn it, even no Jews. I heard on youtube a tiny jewish girl, Shprintse, and other children and they spoke yiddish... it's really touching and wonderful. I'm certain that yiddish will live, even if Yiddishland disappeared....but maybe one day will Yiddishland reborn.

@Tyrsus it is close to the upper german dialects - it is not far away from austrobavarian except the hebrew elements. But also austrobavarian imported some jiddish - "I hob a massel"

A wonderful song, I first heard it on a polish Syrena-Electro-Record of the 1930s, sung by Lola Folman.

"Drobne fisele..." again a borrowing from the Bielarusan neighbors... "Drobny" means small, delicate. Khava sings Litvak, but I still like it. BTW, one of the few Yiddish songs sung in my own Mishpukhe back in the 50s Rumania... Another one would be "Oyf'n Pripechik" made famous by the likes of Jan Peerce and also Judy Garland, even though the latter was never credited to Avrum Goldfaden, the father of Yiddish Vaudeville.

Alors pour toi une langue doit absolument être tributaire à un État ?? As-tu simplement idée du nombre de peuples possédants leur propre langue, leur propre culture, leur propre tradition, etc et n'ayant jamais pu constituer un État moderne??? it's so beautiful. this was once part of the culture of my country. Now this dialect is missing, and surely i know quite well what had happened during the nazi regime. But once more and on top of the missing, murdered people i feel deep in my heart, how much more poorer we germans are. Jiddisch is a language just as Belarussian is a language though mostly russian.
