I guess the writers weren't prepared to move into a different plot, the one with endless potential. Many seasons have passed and no major progression has been made. In fact. Sylar killing Elle was the biggest character regression in the series. I'm still a fan but I wish the producers had done a better job.... :)
Yes, the big reset and back to square one for Sylar was the worst thing they could do. the volume 4 was so boring from the sylar part: he is the villain, ok, back killing, ok been there seen that. :/
So far, taking Elle off is the worst thing the writers have done to the series. Their relationship could have been Sylar's redemption. But still, the good old evil Sylar works for the story too.
