@spartan30070 Not very well. I tried it on a similar net-book and its VERY laggy and bad. If you wanna play awesome Minecraft, I suggest you get at least 2GB of RAM/memory.

@TheTobymw99 No. Its not ram you need. and they aint laggy, i play gta sa with samp on netbooks, no lag. it draws about 700mb ram and 90% cpu usage. Its not your ram that counts, its the graphics

IM USING THE SAME LAPTOP AS THIS. THE ONLY DIFFERENCE IS THE Li-ion battery, yours is 3 cell and mine is 6 cell.

@RIZZLEKYD11 NO .The EM350 is a netbook being smaller than a Laptop Computer, with a long battery life and ideal for travelling. It has a built in Wifi and is specifically designed for internet use and Email. it lacks a CD/DVD drive, but is considerably lighter than common 14" and 15.4" laptops (or notebooks).If you want to watch movies on it or do serious work ,recommend getting good headphones/external speakers and an external monitor.

I too can read the specs off my em350 which I have owned for 7 mths.Its a robust little sucker with discreet built in webcam & mike at top of screen.Screen OK but hard to read under bright sunlight.Left side of the keybd are two USB 2.0 ports ,an Ethernet (RJ45) port,an Ext display (VGA) port,(sadly no HDMI port) and sockets for mike and headphones.Sound is a bit tinny so use headphones.Touchpad can be fiddly. Power plug is nifty,can rotate it to 4 diff posns,but bulky.That said excellent buy

Just bought one of these myself. You should try Ubuntu 11.04 on it instead of windows. I am getting 11.5 hours of use from full charge whereas Windows only gave me about 4.

I got this gem a little while back and trust me folks, the e-Machines EM350 computer (manufactured by Acer) spawns the best EVER notebook in history. There is no match for the quality of this little baby at the low price it is - fast, lean, robust and a no frills approach to the world of fine technology, this little gem will FAR stand the test of time against all the other notebooks out there for sure.

Extremely recommended buying. A+

LOL. Trying to open at the hinge? Easy mistake. It's not tapered. It is thin though. Light too. Been using 1 and will say: it's not too bad. Not good, but @ AU$208 it's certainly good value. To clarify questions, the fan noise is due to small air path. Under the CPU gets hot and vents are positioned badly. Screen will warp if pressed from behind the lid. Keys are cramped but have good feedback. Trackpad is small but OK but buttons are crap near middle. No BT. Win7. But HDD access panel=forgiven

@Macintosh3745 ya, my sis got one for $199 too + the rebate so $165 all up. Uses it for travel. I stated Win7 in my post but some don't consider Starter to be Win7. I've got ubuntu dual-booted on it, and the GRUB bootloader is just what I wanted because you can load a full colour background behind the OS choices.

How is someone getting 11.5 hours in Ubuntu? Put 2GB RAM in. If you haven't formatted the HDD, and you go read the manualy that came with it, you can reainstall Win7 starter. It's easy.

Emachine today are decent computer i have a recently boughten one their not bad anymore. Considering 2002-2004 it was a crap pc. Now i love Emachine it relibile buy one today you will know what i mean. They renew the Company with acer I do love Acer.

Your review is just ok not perfect so let me fill in some blanks people might want to know.

Performance is rather good. You should know that this is and ACER aspire ONE packaged in to a rather poor quality case. So for build quality it scores a 2 out of 5.

The performance is Exactly the same as any Acer aspire ONE with matching specs.

I have one with winXP and i have installed WIN 7 ultimate which works just fine.

4 hour battery is disappointing.

But for €199 its a great package.

i have 1 of these little buggers..... good little performer.... bit slow when i load it up, but does a good job. im running audio editing and photo editing software and it is good enough to keep up.. i can even run some not bad games on it.. very light, screen is nice and bright, keys are a little small but you get use to it. and 4 hour battery... NOICE :-)

I bought this one on 27/09/2010 but there was no pre instald XP. the operating system was like linux, ( I hv no idea how is linux ) I uninstaled the preloaded OS and I tried to instal XP via winsetup softwar with a pandrive. but I till today was unable to instal that. I dont know what I will do.
