If your a breeder because you love the breed I understand...only problem is if your a dog breeder in the US and say your litter has 8 pups and you sell them, they go to families who seem to love them...but the statistics dont lie, 7 out of the 8 pups you sold will end up at a shelter in their life, and 6 out of those 7 will be euthenized at the shelter. 10-12 million dogs are put down every year in the US. Save a life, adopt from a shelter! 50% of them are purebreds if thats what u want!
when I was a teenager (quite a few years ago now!) I was going out with a boy and when we had been together a few months he showed me his mothers dogs.. I thought it was strange as I had never seen them before. he took me down the cellar and there were about 20 or so cages about 18" square stacked about 3 high. in each cage was a toy poodle. some had 2 in.. this really disturbed me & I dumped him right away. he said his mum was a breeder and that all breeders kept them that way.. :(
I'm only 15 right now but when I'm older I'm goin to be a vet and I'm gonna shut down these mills with the help of other doctors we will give the the animals the care they need and do fundraisers where every animal sold the money goes towards shutting down another mill and will start a cycle until every mill is gone and all the animals are cared for and loved -3 :) like if u agree

You aren't supposed to buy pet store dogs because they are connected to puppy mills and with luck, puppy mills are found and the dogs are saved. BUT what about the dogs in the pet store? No organization comes to save them...so are they just doomed to waste away their entire life in a pet store?

I never buy from pet shops, because most of the time the puppies don't look like they're supposed to, and are all either ACA or Continental KC registered, which is not good. You don't know what lines were used in producing that dog, or even if it is what the tag says it is!

just curious if you think all puppies in pet shops or papers are from mills?....we got our beloved dog 11 yrs ago from the pet shop and she was the miracle in our life...god bless her soul we lost her this past June....we miss her so much....we have also advertised our own pups in the local newspaper not long ago . they were beagle pups...and we still have their mother here who is not abused but a loving inside pet......she see the light of day EVERYDAY!!!..

Animals don't have a voice and are the most downtrodden living beings on this planet because of that. They are defenceless. Do YOU focus on ALL the billions of problems in the world? Are you by any chance God? And you also find the time to feel for the puppies. Wow. Ain't you perfect. What about the old and cripple dogs suffering in there all their lives? Not cute enough for you, I guess.
If you're so sorry for people, go help them instead of putting down those who help animals.

YOU AGAIN? Why are you writing from a different account? Chicken? You opened this up just for me? So, what about people who suffer? Are YOU helping them? You put down people that bring to the public the plight of puppy farm dogs, not me. I support their work and admire it. Why don't you stick to playing with your mates in front of the camera. People are like you, petty, self-centered and mean, that's why I don't think they have priority over evryone. You're getting boring now.

Surely if these stinking councils allow this cruelty they are breaking the law by not following the animal welfare act. Councils actually license these places - the bastards. Sorry for the language but they make me sick. These poor dogs suffering like that. I hate animal cruelty.

i feel sorry for all of the puppies and adult dogs , i think they put the owners in tiny cages and put them in the same situations as the poor helpless dogs and puppies were in.

Even if someone could no longer keep their dog, I'm sure if they were a responsible,caring owner they would ensure it went to a loving home - not just sell through a newspaper or give it away to just anyone!! I find your last line in your comment very rude. You obviously don't know what you're talking about!

@Timbellemia I advertise my puppies in the paper. That doesn't make me an uncaring person. I ask people to come out here to meet me before I sell a dog. Just becuase they found me in the paper doesn't mean I'm a puppy mill.

@alinalove777 This is true!! Puppy farms are a place where a cruel person takes absoulutey no care of their animals and just have lots of dogs to breed.Did you know sometimes when they cant breed they kill them by hitting them with metal objects!!!

@alinalove777 you're are wrong too... there is just such a seller in our home town paper he keeps the dogs in a barn and sell's half a dozen different breed's and after the mother has about 5 litters he takes her out in back and shoots her with a shot gun... maybe you should research a little before you talk about what you have so little knowledge of? They did say all they said some...

Really? how do you know that any/all the pups you sold in the newspaper won't end up in rescue? You have made an inane, stupid comment on a subject that you know nothing about. This raises awareness of the plight of puppy farmed dogs-abused by scum-endlessly bred then disposed of. The pups have been bred on demand and sold with genetic faults through pet stores and newspapers. Folk who buy these pups are not abusers-they are parents who feel their child's life will be enhanced by a loving pet.

A loving pet that will probably die at a young age. If you were a bona fide breeder, then you would not need to advertise in a newspaper - you would be on the KC's list of breeders, who mate their dogs' for the good of the breed.You have the same uncaring attitude as the owners of puppy farms - you just do it on a smaller scale. I am sorry for the loss of your dog and have no doubt that you miss her, but can you be sure that the mother of your 'beloved dog'....see the light of day ANYDAY!!!

just curious if you think all puppies in pet shops or papers are from mills?....we got our beloved dog 11 yrs ago from the pet shop and she was the miracle in our life...god bless her soul we lost her this past June....we miss her so much....we have also advertised our own pups in the local newspaper not long ago . they were beagle pups...and we still have their mother here who is not abused but a loving inside pet......she see the light of day EVERYDAY!!!..
