  • the enlightened one's worship mithra to this day so doe's the pope. christianity is for the common folk to put the fear of god in them to make sure they pay up. fuck you pay me

  • @alieco HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  • I don't understand the "numbers" argument at all. Just because more people believe in Christ at the present moment, does not mean that he was not based on pagan gods.

There is more evidence that Ceasar existed than Christ, but that is really a silly argument. It has nothing to do with whether or not Jesus was actually a god or a damned good imposter who borrowed other traditions to bolster his support.

  • I assume all of you got your "education" at Sunday school - or worse. There is no historical evidence for Jesus outside of anonymous gospels written after his purported lifetime. There are Mithraeums all over Europe and Mithraism was the favorite religion of the Roman Legions in the first century and before.

Speaking of Sunday - yes it was his day.

I find nothing so disgusting as a delusional history denier and that's precisely what you folks are.

  • Mithras museums all over europe, hmmm, surprising thought that. There are museums, not mithras museums. Yet his work is condemned to a museum, whilst Jesus work is testified by millions of churches. A handful of museums, a million churches. You lose by weight of numbers as well as weight of evidence. Try study, it helps when forming an opinion!

  • Its amazing how many people think this Mithras stuff is real. Yet it was only discovered a short time ago, and has no foundation or background.

Jesus was what he said, Mithras is a myth!

  • Merry Mithrasmas, jackass!

  • Must be your day with the family braincell.

    Get a life!

  • Coming from a pious christian, saved by Jayzus, whose screen name is Monstercockerel, you know you can't suppress your homosexuality.

  • Unlike Christianity which is near enough fact what with all the actual evidence

  • Are you being sarcastic?

There is more evidence for Jesus Christ than there is for Julius Caesar and there is more evidence for julius than there is for Mithras. Leave the history to those who know it!

  • Wow, just what evidence is there for Jesus that makes it more than Julius Caesar? Julius Caesar wrote at least two full length books, left inscriptions around the Mediterranean, and started an imperial dynasty. Two of his contemporaries wrote about him, and corresponded with him (Cicero and Catullus). The battles he fought in Gaul have left archaeological evidence. You wish Jesus had an eighth of the evidence that Caesar has.

  • There are only two books of any merit about Julius Caesar, both based on campaigns in Gaul, that were lead by his generals as it was shown in those books he was a crap military leader. There was a dynasty before and after him,so more crap from you.

As for jesus, look at Josephus,Ptolomy,Suetonius,Pliny and so many many more, plus the evidence we have for him. Good luck with that single braincell, it really seems to be working! LOL

  • Two books about Julius Caesar? Two books written by him, the Gaulic War and the Civil War. Cicero, a contemporary of Caesar, wrote about him as did another contemporary, Catullus. Catullus wrote a poem about having dinner with him. Pretty damn convincing, if you ask me "There was a dynasty before and after him" With that statement you have shown your utter lack of knowledge on Roman government. Before Caesar, Rome was a republic, so there were no "dynasties." Two consuls were elected

  • ..annually from among the male Roman citizens who'd gone through other offices. So your statement is meaningless. Yes, there were dynasties after him, and they all used the title of CAESAR and AUGUSTUS as signs of deriving their authority from the Julio-Claudian dynasty.

Now on to the Jesus evidence. I assume when you say Josephus, you're referring to the bogus quote where Josephus the Jew calls Jesus "the messiah." Every scholar who doesn't go to a fundie church acknowledges it as an ..
