Is there a reason to record a STEREO guitar signal for the left and right? I mena, shouldnt it be 2xMONO signals? Cause then you lose half the channel's "volume" by hard panning a stereo guitar.
Also, how did you go about mapping the midi chart for the ezdummer? Did you use a midi keyboard or some other program like guitar pro to map the notes for the midi?

Hiya, The roland td3 will be set up with different notes.... try scrolling through the kits to get to gm midi or something similar, if not you;ll have to edit the individual triggers on the td3 to different notes, for example a snare on ezdrummer might be triggered by note D1, so you need to set up your td3 to know when you hit your snare pad its note D1, it currently might be F#3 which might trigger a ride bell sound for example....
@absenceoffear2008 maybe your quantize settings are off... prolly cause you have on auto quantize. either turn that off of set the correct values for automatic quantize
how do you get that awesome guitar sound? im trying to make a mix with Sonar Cakewalk and Pod Farm 2, but my guitar sounds sooo bad :S i've tryied with diferents guitar tones with no luck... how u do it? is and eq thing?
Could you email me the project file without the audio in it then I could open it up and have these settings instead of copying them all haha. Great tone!
can you do a instructional video on how to get started with ezdrummer on cubase? im having trouble with getting everything started and by the sounds of it a lot of people are because i cant find anything on the net on how to start working the two. thanks for the time cheers.
My songs don't sound as good as they do normally after I export the audio, what could I be doing wrong, I use a motu 2408 audio interface with cubase 4, while the program is open they sound really good but once I export them.... not so well
@segers41 The huge mixer is part of EZDrummer / Overloud (read video title). These programs are plug-ins for Cubase (seperate bits of software). You must install these seperately and they can be accessed from VST Instruments inside Cubase. You can assign tracks to use these plugins.
I'm probably not explaining it too well, but if you check out some of the keywords I've used like 'VST Instruments' & plugins, you should be able to find a youtube tutorial which explains it all for you.
@segers41 to the very left top of your mixing strip there are 2 small arrows, 1 up and 1 down, try clicking them ;) now you have the 'huge mixer" not just the faders
I dont think you can d/l EZD.You need to buy the first release of EZD before you can use all of the other expansion paks.EZD is software which you can buy @ your local music store. Toontrack makes the EZ series. So just google Toontrack
Nice work....I got the same question as dirtbikefreak942. When I try to put each drum to the separate channel I can hear only trk1 playing...what kind of tracks I have to add to play all the drums?
Thanks, helped me a load i see the concept behind it (re-labeled all the tracks in order instead of all track1) but when i open the mixer i still have just the one channel strip :(.. probably a really newbie mistake but any help would be greatly appreciated
Im about to start fresh and see if its because i already programmed some drums with the EZmixer set to all track 1.
Hi! Sounds amazing to me! Could some1 pls show me some good tutorials about mixing rock music with Cubase? I've been experimenting for a little while now (you can listen to 2 pieces of music on my channel), but there are still a few things, that I don't understand. For example, I don't know, what exactly is a clipper, or how to use a compressor-limiter correctly. I think, my 2 songs that you can listen to are good quality for a "demo", but the sound that I heard on this vid, is much better!
I really love your music and I'm also working with audio mixing... I'd like to know if you have any links where I can download that music you are playing in the video? (MP3 or Cubase Formats)... Really appreciate it, thanks in advance.
Dude, I used this video as a guide to help me get better EQ settings for some songs I've been working on and it helped my mix immensely! Thanks so much for taking the time to do this. It's been a fantastic help!
I learned more in 10 min from watching that than from most of these "engineers" who like to sit in front of a console talking for 20 min and your left saying," uh, well good for you but show us how you do it if you're done talking about your philosophy."
1. go in and cut/paste the notes for each item you want to move to a new track (cymbals, etc)
2. in EZdrummer, send the separate cymbals, snare to new audio tracks (you can change the ouputs in the EZdrummer mixer) then bounce these midi > audio to get a wav version

after putting them in one track
i mean i record everything with a keyboard
and i got a track of the beat i want
so now i need to open new tracks and copy paste the drums for each other or is there a way to just select what you want
and give some command and it will open a track with the selected midi by itself
WishingBones 2 years ago
you can do two things...
1. go in and cut/paste the notes for each item you want to move to a new track (cymbals, etc)
2. in EZdrummer, send the separate cymbals, snare to new audio tracks (you can change the ouputs in the EZdrummer mixer) then bounce these midi > audio to get a wav version
#1 is better for you i think. hope that helps.
