  • Im surprised you didnt know michigan. Were shaped like a mitten, which makes it very easily identifiable!!!

  • 0:10 why would they use comic sans?

  • I'm from a cold small state. woot!

  • Aww I'm from one of those smaller states (Maryland)

  • Just so you know, if by some strange reason I ever meet you, I'm going to pinch you for forgetting my state. And you were this close! THIS CLOSE! :D

  • So what's even more depressing about this video is the fact of what a large demographic of the United States you represent. Apparently 80% of americans can't even name all of the 13 colonies. And I think it's only 10% can name all the caitols. Don't quote me on the numbers but I do know they are small. I could place all the states in location at 3, name them and they're capitols thanks to a puzzle i had and my loose photographic/association memory. So I was really surprised by these facts.

  • hahaha you forgot illinois! the state of all states! i mean chitown!! but i forgive you :)

  • why are hipsters form oregon? lol

  • From now on if anyone asks me what state I live in I will say "the rest...that's not Canada"

  • @Quirellmort99 i live there too!

  • w ww. sp or cl e .co m /g a me s/ st ates. ph p (delete the spaces.)

    i had to.

  • Haha... I find it amusing that you totally missed all of the midwest. xD

  • i am not surprised that you missed wisconsin. all we have is cows. and farms. and some more cows. oh, and cheese heads, because we are all insane here in the frozen tundra that snows in april. xD

  • I'm pretty sure you're better at geography than most Americans. (Yes, I'm saying the American school system sucks and I'm from Europe.)

  • haha im just as bad...

    actually i m probably worse

    lolz and subscribed XD

  • OUCH. (I'm from Illinois)

  • You got where I live! SWEET!

  • This is great. Every time I watch one of your videos, I'm honestly so entertained and inspired.

  • @VloggerQueen17 daww, thank you :) *hugs*

  • in Canada it so much easier! :D we've only got 10 provinces and 3 territories. and most of them are BIG. except PEI

  • HEY WAIT BUT OHIO IS WHERE IT DIPS DOWN ON THE RIGHT-ISH SIDE ... and people reference it in TV and movies all the time and IT'S ON GLEE.

  • I am in Rhode Island (look it up, but I warn you, it's tiny) and I would like to assure you that it was quite warm today.

  • @NowWeAreAllTom Define warm...

  • I loved this video Emily!! I thoroughly enjoyed watching your animation of the states - although not sure how I'm supposed to feel about my home state (Delaware) not even getting a mention. ;) that's ok, though. most people don't even know we're a state...

  • Hey!!! New Jersey is well known for it's...um...uh...hm....we have the Statue of Liberty!(which is always associated with New York...um...hmmm....we've got tomatoes?

  • @maoxiaoling I love tomatoes! :D

  • Apparently I live in umm... the rest... Also known as Minnesota (with a few other states thrown in... ^_^

  • aww u dont know wher minnesota is :( and your "sooo" sounded just like how we say it lol

  • Comment removed

  • "That's not Canada." :D You're awesome.

  • You did better on the south than I would have before I got stationed here in Alabama. I love New Orleans!

  • Michigan is easy It looks like a hand surrounded by water

  • I live in Australia and all I can say is thank god there's only 7 states

  • I'm such a geography nerd! I love maps!

I would like to see your South America, Europe and Asia map. :)

  • The trick is to live in a smaller country,

Saying that I don't really know where everywhere is and the uk an awful lot smaller than the us.

  • I live in the really cold area under maine, which isn't ma but something else idk.

but right now it's to hot to sleep... meh

  • On the first day of 9th grade World History, our teacher told us to draw a rough map of the world. South America and Aftrica were the same general continent on mine. I also wasn't the only person who forgot a continent. Oh boy.

  • I live in the Canada region. Right above Montana and "the rest".

  • I live in "the rest"

  • Awww...I'm part of "the rest"...oh well...

  • You knew where Maine was, good enough for me :)

  • This video reminded me how much of a geography nerd I am. :)

  • So this was insanely hilarious and I relate exactly hahaha.. i really need to take some time and really study a map just so i knowwwwwwwww hahahaha

  • wow.....shes better than me

  • Whats an america?

  • I wonder how this would look for Europe?

  • @jullachris90 Please do not even get me started on Europe.

  • @emilythebravee Ok, next video you name all the countries in europe with there capital cities or else it's off to bed with no socks on. :)

  • Your missing one of the Great Lakes. Michigan is a lot easier to find if you have all of those.

  • hey, you're good on my list :) you got my two favorites- NY (where I live) and TX (where I spent most of my life.) and yes, NY is freaking cold. especially for someone who lived in texas for 10 years.

  • Man am I glad Canada is only divided up into 13 parts... (13 better be right or I shall never in my life have felt so dumb) lol :)

  • I live in Ohio so the Great Lake states are by far the easiest for me and then I kinda know the west coast and Where Colorado is.

  • Hey, you're better than me. Honest.

  • Jesus, I have the exact same problem, it is embarrassing! And I live in the UK so I'm supposed to (in theory) know my Europe map like the alphabet...which is very much not the case.

  • Cool! I live in "technically the South" :)

  • HA. You abbreviated Maine as MA. Massachusetts is my state and should not be confused with such trash as MAINE!

  • @jujubeans360 Shoot... what's the abbreviation for Maine?

  • @emilythebravee ME. Oh Emily...

  • @emilythebravee Maine = ME. Aside from Hawaii (HI) we're the only state that abbriviates to a word :)

Also, @jujubeans360 : hey now! No trash up here...just good ol' rednecks XD

  • oh dear lol btw ma is mass not maine oh and the really cold states are new england so thats mass, rhode island, vermont, new hamp, and maine hope this helps in the future lol :)

  • @DressageGurl101 oh and i totally forgot connecticut :O

  • Aw :( no michigan? We look like a mitten, its pretty easy to remember us! :P

  • LOL. This is hilarious. I've never understood the purpose of learning all of the states/capitols/locations. I tend to forget them 2 days after my test.

  • Same thing with me. Except, my "trouble area" is out west (not California and Washington, because their on the coast, but like the area around Oklahoma) because I've always been on the East coast.

  • YOU CUT MARYLAND IN HALF! WHYYYYY?

  • @maraviforshort I'M SORRY!

  • I think it has a lot to do with what coast you're on! I could identify all the east coast states, but until two days ago thought that Ohio was where Utah actually is.

Ohio is nowhere NEAR Utah! And then you said the four corners were EASY. Blow to my ego.

I'M SO SAD THAT VEDA IS ALMOST OVER!

  • @julialovesupreme ... sometimes I forget that Ohio is a state. (so ashamed.)

  • Better than me.

  • Chicago is offended. I most of Illinois is irrelevant though. I'm actually alright at geography... So... BUT THIS IS FUNNY.

  • That's pretty the opposite of which states I would be able to locate. I live in CT. The NorthEast is easy, you get to the big states and I have no idea.

  • @sequenceofletters See, it's the exact opposite for me. You guys are like the really hard pieces of the puzzle.

  • I live in Sweden - and I am quite impressed with your skillz. I mean, sure, you are supposed to know your own country - but geography feels pointless unless you can relate your it to something. I mean, what is the point of knowing the name and place of a state if that is the only thing you know about it? It's better to know something more about the place, and therefore know the name of the state. Kind of like you do. But maybe MORE things. Yeah. I'm logical.

Also, you made me laugh. Thanks. :)

  • Well I want you to be able to locate Missouri since I live there, so this may help: our middle school teachers taught us MIMAL, which forms a chef-looking thing. It's Minnesota, Iowa, Missouri, Arkansas, and Louisiana, all in one vertical line. But I am pretty crap at geography as well, so I won't hold this against you.

  • Yeah, the states suck for me. I can't even do those around me. I live in Kentucky, and I only know those to the east/north of me. the west is all a big bunch of nothing. New England? Yeah, I know where Maine and New York are.

  • This is the funniest video I've seen all day.

    You are awesome.

  • First! XD Don't feel bad about it, my geography is even worse. Ya, it is REALLY sad. The funny thing is that my old geography teacher thinks I'm amazing at geography. It may have to do with the fact that I'm one of his favorite students because I played him a Beatles song on my guitar haha

  • I laughed.

  • I feel the same way about geography. I think most people do? I live in Ohio btw and I don't even mind. hahaha

  • I've always sucked at it. I came last in a competition outof 2,300 PEOPLE

  • @Davidovichification That is impressive.

  • @Davidovichification I'm definitely impressed.

  • I'm from Oregon and I can safely say that the hipster thing is true, especially around Portland, where I happen to live.

  • From Wisconsin; not offended.

  • @Shenanitarian Oh, except we have it way worse than the East Coast when it comes to cold weather.
