The reason you haven't seen a Saab 9-4x on the road is that only 457 examples were built before Saab discontinued all new vehicle production in 2011. It is likely that many of these vehicles remain unsold on dealer lots in the US and Europe as many Saab dealers are having difficulty offloading these cars because of the marques pending bankruptcy and the uncertainty of the status of their factory warranties.
I must say I am not a very big fan of SUV/crossover-cars and second I am a Volvoman. But I would much rather have one of these then both XC60 and XC90. I never thought it was possible to make an SUV look typical ''saabish'' but they have done a great job here! Was this model ever put to production? I have never seen one on the roads! :(

i loveeeee saab and i love this vehicle but i think its underpowered with only a 3.0L v6 265 hp and a 2.8L v6 turbo with 300hp and the Curb weight, 4250-4650 lbs, saabs are fun because of the luxury and performance and i dont see this one being quick
I really like the new SAAB line up. However, as several have said and many know, SAAB love is SAAB love, much like Jeep love is Jeep love. It is an indescribable feeling... a passion. I think I am attracted to it because it looks so similar to the new Grand Cherokee. I doubt I would be one to buy one but I can truly appreciate it and the feeling that it gives its fans.
what was holding saab back was they had a very limited selection of cars for the common buyer. bmw has like 5 cars for each category. with all the new types of cars i know saab will be recognized with names like audi bmw and mercedes
@bikedude74 we own a 2000 9-5, 1986 900, 2006? 97x, and two midnight blue 9000 aeros. One auto and mine being stick. My parents have driven, a couple newer model ones but we think we will stick with our ones we have for a while. All of our saabs have under 100k and brought new, except my 9000 with was bought at 194k. I like the newer saabs alot just really love the classic style.
Nice car, but still reminds me of the Trollblazer days. Until Saab comes back out with the 9000 aero, (love mine) I don't think I will get another, except for maybe a 9-3 sportcombi. I LOVE wagons. I'll just keep chugging along in my 200k+ 9000 until I find another Saab I truly love.

Like said before - Saab is more of an emotion than a car manufacturer. If I had the money, I would buy the new 9-4x without hesitation. Beautiful car!
I've always like the looks and the 'intelligent alternative' brand positioning of Saab. I've come close to buying one - and then I Iook inside the cheap-looking cabin - and then look elsewhere. Such a disappointment. Hope that now they're GM-free, they'll sex up their interiors.
I have just recently gone from using a 1990 Lada Niva as an every day driver, to a 1991 900 Aero. I can assure you that the interior of the Lada is significantly worse :p Although i understand what you mean about the SAAB's being sub standard. They really dont elude to being a luxury car inside.
ps: Lada is awesome. Don't rip them off! Having trouble bringing myself to sell mine

You've obviously never owned a Lada Niva and rip it off like every other fuckwit who has never owned one. You can't get another car in its price range that is anywhere near as good offroad, or as rugged and durable. You just can't. Nearly everyone who has the mechanical know-how to do something as simple as use a stick to get termites out of a tree will be able to do all their own repairs to the vehicle, and will love it.
I love the way neanderthals justify the how great their vehicles are based on the fact they can do all their own repairs - usually typical of most VW owners I've come across - "Lada Niva, so easy to fix, even a Caveman can do it!" Your Niva would be truly as great as you describe only if you didn't have to perform any repairs. Lada's & Trabants are still the standing joke of the Autoworld.

There are places in Russia where once you have bought a car, returning to a dealer or mechanic for repairs would be far too difficult, or even dangerous in certain seasons. Hence the Niva was designed with repair in mind. It would be unrealistic to expect cars to operate in harsh conditions like those of Siberia without needing repairs. For some people DIY is their only option

The new 9-4x looks great! The main problem for this car is that its hasn´t got a diesel. I would really like to see this car in Europe too. But overall, nice work Saab! :)

Saab interiors went way upscale under GM's guidance. Take one look at the old 900's interiors - they were junk, no better than Russian built Lada's.

@diabledesbois The 9-5s and 9-3s are made in Trollhättan (Sweden) but the word is that the 9-4 will be made in the last remaining factory of GM in Silao (Mexico).
