  • Useful. I saw this happening in other p1610 devices, thoug. Pity.

  • and you've tried just using the calibration tool? it's in the control panel with all touch screen fujitsu laptops. works perfectly on mine

  • As I've already said, calibrating the digitizer did not help.

  • You just need to align the cursor with the digitizer and reboot, no big deal. Mine had the problem too but I figured how to fix it within 10 minutes.

  • your comment sucks. WTF does "align the cursor with the digitizer" mean?

You mean calibrate the digitizer? That doesn't help.

  • I wonder what touch screen drivers are you using? The latest one from Fujitsu is V1.0L03.

In true one you are using there is not any touch support and probably that's part of the problem.

If you go to your Control Panel,Pen and Input devices, you should see a touch tab in there. If you don't see it then you have the wrong driver.

  • I purchased a refurbished T4215 from Fujitsu and had to send the unit back for repair 4 times. Some of the minor problems were fixed but the major problem was not(defective processor and/or hard drive), and guess what? I was told that 3 month warranty expired and that there is nothing they can do. So yeh, I'm not suprised that this happened to you. Good luck.

  • Mine has the same problem but it is over the "C" button. The 1-4 button area is fine.

    Strange.

  • life is ruff

  • Damn, that spoils my shopping. Cause I really liked p1610 up until I saw this. Thanks for brinning this up.

  • I heard you got a refund. That's good. What did you end up buying to replace the p1610? I just sent in my p1610 today when I realized it had the same problem (just not as bad).

  • I bought the HP tx1000z. It's gots some pros and cons when compared to the 1610.

    Pros:

    It's not broken

    It's way cheaper

    it's way faster

    It's prettier

    cons:

    It's bigger

Its digitizer is not as good

The size is a big con. though the hp is not terribly big. It is bigger than I like. the 2.2 AMD dual core proc with 2GB RAM and 120 GB HDD make up for it, though. Plus it was $1300 w/tax versus the $1650 of the fuji.

  • Update: I received the laptop back from fujitsu, and all they did was replace the digitizer again. Guess what? The problem showed back up again within a few hours of receiving it.

I'm out on fujitsu products from now on.
