I'm from Ripon, CA and I'll tell you guys that this car doesn't exist anymore. I forgot which cop wrecked this and a Charger. IMO having a car like this in a town like Ripon is the STUPIDEST idea ever. There's like 12,000 ppl in this town for fuck's sake and half of them are over the age of 50. Waste of our tax money.
@fartfacefunk I live near Ripon and i've been there many times. The whole city is swarming with police and they even have cameras in like 70 different locations city wide. Like you said its a small town with mostly innocent people; so it's pretty bizarre that they have so many police. I bet the layoffs from Modesto were relieved to Ripon PD.
That we do our sheriffs office in Jeff Davis in Georgia have them there black with greyish white letters I hope to join them when I graduate high school then later on join GSP.
if they can't catch you, fail to keep up, and you get away, what are they gonna do? Actually I'm a male, college student struggling to pay my taxes, tuition, support my mom and pop, and here I see the hard earned blood and sweat people do to pay the government, and these rural police are pissing away the spoils with unnecessary muscle cars. Did you ever think that a major interstate might just run through this "rural" town that needs to have the speed limit enforced? Also, this is the install shop, sometimes police agencies get shops over 100 miles away to install their equipment. Just because the install shop is in a rural area doesn't mean that the police department is.
Also, the CVPI and Mustang have the same engine, a 4.6L V8, and the Mustangs are actually lighter, meaning better MPG. Finally, a Police Package CV costs around $28,000, a base Mustang costs around $20,000.

It looks pretty good, we have the same one's over here in PR but with different rims and color(black and white) tough, over here they use them for "Transit Division" they are most of the time on the highway.
How so? If a pursuit takes place there's no way anybody's going to get away from that patrol car. Highway officers all over the country are also starting to use Dodge Chargers too, and both companies give law enforcement agencies discounts. It helps fight crime, so there's no such thing as a waste of money for that purpose.

Secdonly, to supercharge that crown vic (and all supporting mods /safety), cost wise it makes more sense to buy something with more horsepower

You can legally run from unmarked cars, but if they do catch you, you're going to be charged with the speeding and reckless driving, which isn't nearly as bad as being charged with eluding.

Cont. I mean, one police car sitting onthe side of the road looking like is shooting traffic radar will slow down more cars than one "unmarked" one handing out a ticket to a driver. Its all about visibility. Its one tool that the police have, and should not give up by trying to make their vehicles less visible.

Although I do like the car, I have one objection to police vehicles without lightbars. The objection is that it reduces the visibility of the vehicles. One might think I say that so that I will always know where the police are, however, my objection sits in the idea that thru visibility, the police prevent and deter crime. If the police lose their visibility, they lose a huge deterrent factor.

YEAH WELL thats what they need to catch people that have high performance cars i have quite a few that i know that have out ran the police . i sorry but a regualr police isnt going to catch a SUPRA that is MODDED even some of the police mustangs or camoro or Viper can catch some of the cars that are out on the road. most people that are intoo fast cars and build them there self are way better DRIVERS cause they have a BOND WITH THERE CARR police don't care about there cars to them it just a car

How so? If a pursuit takes place there's no way anybody's going to get away from that patrol car. Highway officers all over the country are also starting to use Dodge Chargers too, and both companies give law enforcement agencies discounts. It helps fight crime, so there's no such thing as a waste of money for that purpose.

High - end cars in use for law enforcement are usually used for highway intercepting... When a regular car just isnt fast enough to catch a car / reach a intercept point to lay down stop sticks or apprehend someone, they come in handy. People also generally think twice about trying to run when lit up by a 300-400hp cop car.
Secdonly, to supercharge that crown vic (and all supporting mods /safety), cost wise it makes more sense to buy something with more horsepower

You can legally run from unmarked cars, but if they do catch you, you're going to be charged with the speeding and reckless driving, which isn't nearly as bad as being charged with eluding.
My ride would leave this behind so fast it would be laughable.
