The transition at 5:02 is simply amazing, thats what rush do so well, they get two things barely anything alike and get an awesome transition (especially seen in Spirit of the Radio) which they have already established in the song (i.e The Japansese thing in Passage To Bangkok) and make it fit perfectly.

They could very well have have lifted it from Led Zeppelin (Jimmy Page most likely), who in turn very well could have lifted it from some old Memphis bluesman...who in turn was most likely influenced by African music, and white folk music of the south, which in turn was heavily influenced by traditional Irish music. To hazard a guess, I'd say the riff is probably based on some Irish percussion (bodran) rhythm, but then again, I'm biased. ;)

Oh yes I heard this song for the first time from my brothers 8-track tape..lol...how old I am...but this was aweseome. Perfect blend of drums, bass and guitar....lyrics were....umm interesting. This song brings back such memories! Love the music. It's a modern day masterpiece. Rush is awesome and I appreciate each of the three band members. Neil Peart is an amazing drummer, Alex Lifeson rocks on the guitar and Geddy Lee is a great frontman. They blend together so well. That's why they've been together, making amazing music for so long!
