I got stung by a Scorpion about 5 years ago....even a small one hurts like hell.

The reason that the Scorpion is all black and untextured during that last part of the movie is because the SFX crew ran out of funds...they were way over budget by the time some of the most important scenes were filmed.

But the movie was released anyway..and I sure am glad it was.

The scorpion scenes were done by the legendary stop-motion animator Willis O'Brien who was a mentor to the equally legendary Ray Harryhausen.

I always thought that was a nice, but unexpected, bit of gore.

Even though it was not all that gory it sure was unexpected...just a nice added touch.

oh my gosh! i know that the biggest scorpion is the emperor scorpion(and it's big!) but this......this scorpion is huge!!!!
