i love JAPAN ,big Coulter ,great people , congratulations for the wedding my Armenian brother ! BAXTAVOR ZOYKER LINEK ....ASTZOV LIK@ EREXEK UNENAK .
about the language MY FRIEND ..WE ARMENIANS are Great :))))) we can speak any languages , every Armenian speak 4 languages ,myself speaks 4 ,and i guess for our young couples are not so difficult !
Vache greetings man, as a Armenian Male I am married to a Vietnamese Woman. Shes catholic but we got married in the Armenian Church and our first child (son) was baptized in the Armenian Church as well. I wish you all the luck and blessings in the world bro! I know honestly God will provide. I race needs more beautiful cultures in it from time to time change our perspective on things and add some new qualities. Take care man and God Bless!
Oh my Lord!....I have tears on my eyes as I watched this wedding video. I think it's beautiful that people see beyond the ethnic differences. I love it:) and may God bless your marriage walikkkkkkkk LOOOL!
beautiful and happy people and congratulations to all. I read children will learn Armenian and Japanese, what will happen to their identity? where will be their motherland Armenia or Japan? we are a small race and we dont need further assimilation.....
Since 630 B.C.E. are legacy still remains in tact, and alive in our heritage and history, culture, and government. That is the truth and now they are Armenian as well. Wishing you luck and may your children last forever knowing the truth of who they are. Amen
Congrats :) My cousin is Armenian and Japanese. She's tall, body like a ballerina, BEAUTIFUL NECK, SKIN, HAIR, EYE'S to die for, has a butt, long legs, small feet and hands, and can't leave out her intelligence, and IQ. She's smart and beautiful, and is a CHRISTIAN. What more could you ask for. You're children will be gorgeous, multilingual, and smart as a whip, and I must add both will come from two nationality's that are resilient, deep ties to their culture, and are survivors!
I am not sure where you live (perhaps the US), but I am sure that you do know most Armenians talk to each other in English rather than Armenian. This is the same for Armenian couples and their children. Therefore, marrying an Armenian in a foreign country will not necessarily guarantee the children will be "proper hay's." The only way to assure that is to repatriate back to Armenia. Or, it will purely depend on the individual such as myself to preserve our Armenian language and culture.
Please don't use any derogatory words to refer to my wife's ethnicity. "Jap" was a racist term invented during WWII. Although it is true that should we have any children in the future, they will have mixed blood, one thing that's certain is that they WILL have an Armenian identity and will speak Armenian.
You shouldn't generalize like that, it depends a lot on the person and also location. For example interracial marriages have been going on for ages in Armenia and all those kids remained Armenian, so perhaps you could also marry whatever color you like best and live in Armenia to make it work! As for raising kids outside of Armenia, it is certainly harder but doable based on the will of the parent and the diaspora community that theyre in.
...or a native speaking nanny or au-pair. It helps tremendously for your child to hear that his parent isn't the only one who speaks this language. Kids are savvy little creatures who are quite capable of reasoning that they don't really need to know a language if it is only spoken by one other person."...
That is right, only one parent speaking Armenian is good but not enough, Vache will need more Armenians around for kids to be absolutely fluent in Armenian...
Re video description: that method of raising bilingual children is called OPOL ( one parent one language) and the most recommended one. Some more info from the website:
"One Person, One Language (OPOL) is the most common family language system in use. Each parent or caregiver consistently speaks only one language to the child. Sometimes OPOL requires extra "language supplements," such as playgroups, visits from family, a trip to the country, ...
