as adorable as this cub is, white tigers are not meant to exist in the wild and would not survive due to lack of camouflage. Zoos breed them just because they are pretty but because they are all from the same line, no one see how many are born with genetics defects and killed on the spot. Thats just morbid vanity.

@kawool white tigers tend to be larger when normal tigers which can be advantageous in the wild...and since we dealing with natural gene mutation, white tigers managed to exist for quiet awhile in the wild even before humans and Zoos started fancy them as main attraction and breed them in captivity.

the fact that they are rare can be attribute also to the fact that white tiger breeding with normal tiger don't means necessarily a litter of white cubs.

love tigers/admire the courage and bravery of these individuals. when it gets bigger though, please be extra extra careful. Tigers despite the fact that they could be domesticated could easily turn against their owners, especially if they figure it out. all and all, i admire what they are doing, but just note its going to be a beast when it grows up.

Saw this little guy on PBS. I think he went to a sanctuary to breed with a female.

I had to face palm at this because the world DOES NOT need anymore white tigers since they are a genetic defect and can die in the wild. In Germany (and they speak German, as I should know...!) such things as having a wild animal in your private place are not allowed - except for if you're raising an animal for a zoo or wildlifepark. Anyway as soon as the animal gets some kind of dangerous (in any way!) for the environment it must be given back to the institution.
