@anarchosurfer dude with out guns people could not hunt and if guns kill people then sponns make rosie o donalld fat people start wars not guns and if u dont like them thts fine just dont put bad comments on gun vids ok
On "Lock and Loaded" with Lee Emery he fires the Tommy and the MP40. He hits the watermelon targets only a few times with the tommy, but lands most of the rounds from the mag with the MP40. He prefers the tommy (slight biast), but he landed more rounds on target with the MP40. Less kick..more control. He'd probably think the Browning 30 cal was better than the MG42 as well.
I shot both the MP40 and the Tommy. The Tommy had a horrible muzzle climb and if you held the trigger for than 4 round bursts you're shooting in the trees. The MP40 had less stopping power, but you landed more rounds on target and was more reliable. The tommy is also super heavy with no colapsable stock. In the field it is easier for a medic to stop the bleeding from one hole than three. Most of the European allies did not get the tommies with the compensator.
Seems like people who have never shot full-auto or anything at all have false impressions about these guns. The .45acp is not good for penetrating cars and Clyde Barrow wouldn't even have one. Submachineguns are also pretty much obsolete for military purposes and were becoming so at the end of WWII,
yeaa!!! Real soldiers and the American gun, made by the real old time union workers.Too bad this communist state of Califirnia won't let us American Law abiding citizens own one,Luv this video. p.s God Bless Our Troops, bring them home !
american Tommy gun (probably) pawns everything else... in the same class.. i mean, with its rate of fire and impact...compare it to the 9mm guns of today. you can shoot through a fucking car door with the M1928...then there's the style of the tommygun... im making a story with a character w/ a tommy gun., he blew away all the baddies - the cops - with a simple pull of the trigger (his '28 has the 50 round mag)
Why so serious? Can't a man be proud of his country's victory in WWII? Can't a man be proud of a fine piece of American engineering and history? Youtube being an international site I can't assume you are an American, which if that's the case I can understand your POV more. Regardless, there is no reason to feel sympathy for the average Wehrmacht soldier. They knew what they were doing when they invaded Poland, France, Russia, and the Luftwaffe bombed the UK. WW2 Germany FTL.
The Joker (Christopher Nolan's pretentious version of him) sucks. No psycho ever needed justification or explanations to mere mortals for their actions.
What victory? Why don't you read a few books written by historians and read where 80% of all German casaulties were? That's right the Eastern Front. Hollywood made you believe Germany lost the war in France in 1944. Jesus Fucking Christ. Thank the Soviet Union for destroying the majority of the German panzer forces and men.
Oh, so a regular German soldier KNEW what they were doing? Perhaps you forget that they seriously thought they were fighing for the freedom and independence of Germany and the right not to be bullied by other countries. Incidientially exactly the same tired old cliches we hear from American troops today, invading some third world country for "freedom and safety for their country". Has anything changed today?
The average Wehrmacht soldier was no beast, like Hollywood tells you
If you want the weapon that killed more German soldiers than any other submachine gun look at the Ppsh41. More of them made than any other submachine gun during the entire war. Whereas Thompsons were only given to sergeants in the US army and comparatively few MP40's were used by the Germans, entire divisions of young men used the Ppsh41. So good in fact that the Germans used any they could get their hands on. It became the 3'rd most common weapon in the German army.
@McLarenMercedes You are 100% correct, McLaren. The Ppsh 41 was a robust, compact and very effecient smg. The tommy was heavy, had horrible recoil, the stock was set below the receiver which increased the muzzle lift even more and costly to produce. Most of the european issues tommies lacked the compensator. The mp 40 was cheap to make, a folding stock which made it idealy compact, the stock was in line with the receiver and blow back which greatly reduces recoil and had great control.
Yeah, the Germans knew what they were doing. They were invading other countries in order to prevent those countries from attacking them. They were (in their mind) rightfully taking what was theirs. An interesting parallel can be drawn today when US soldiers are invading Iraq to prevent that country from becoming a "threat" (Iraq a poor country that couldn't even invade Iran back in the 80's) to them.
Germany invaded a lot more countries than those you mention.
@emperorbobarino Hey, what the fuck do you know? Mc Laren is right. My grandfather was a german pilot and when he came to the states he married a Hungarian Jew. As far as fighting, if you don't fight you go to a labor camp. His uncle refused and was s socialist and ended up dead in a camp. He hated the party, but had no choice in the matter. So what the fuck now? I am a proud American and if you think for a second that I wish the Nazis would have won WW2 then you're a tard.
The sniper scene in this movie was total fantasy bullshit. Sniper pulls his high powered scope out and pops the damn thing on his Springfield and gets a kill without zeroing his scope. Lame lame lame.
^What? His scope should already be zeroed. Something anybody who has spent anytime as in combat arms would know. Weapons are supposed to be zeroed before you roll out. When Jackson (the sniper) is making adjustments for windage and elevation before he fires that's correct. Not perfect, but certainly accurate enough not to cry about. Do more research before you comment.
@emperorbobarino OK, I'll do some research. I have next to me my friend who is a scout sniper in the marines who did tours in Afghanistan (meaning he isn't an armchair general and has actually killed people with a damn sniper rifle). Sure, you zero it before combat, but the damn thing was in the tube since he hit the beach! My friend says that anytime you remount a scope you have to rezero, especially after storing it off rifle during combat. How's that bastard, is that ebough research for you?

is a machine pistol different from machine gun because there both machine weapons since machine guns are not allowed in texas but were allowed to shoot house invaders or any threaters who threat.
Uh, hello? The 44 and 40 refer to the year. The MP40 is older and less accurate. Also, the true name is the StG44, not MP44. "Sturmgewehr 44" in German.
Just because it has a sight for 200 meters dosen't mean shit. That's just wishful thinking on your part. The M1928 Thompson had a ladder peep sight that that could be adjusted for ranges much farther than 200 yards. So your point is moot. Lastly, don't try to educate me on firearms, I know far more about firearms than you could ever get from playing your little WWII video games. Lastly, if your English is so bad, I suggest you get better at it before you try to make underdeveloped arguments.
Okay, whoever made that assumption is dead wrong. 200 yards is starting to get a little far even for 7.62x33mm, so the MP40 would hardly make it to 200 yards being 9mm Parabellum. The MP44 has nothing to do with it being a "half submachine gun" or wtf. It fires a bottle necked spire point intermediate rifle cartridge in full auto. A subgun is classified as such because it fires pistol ammunition. Firing ANY pistol cartridge at 100 yards is stretching it.
The Thompson never served in WWI. It was intended for that war, but never made it. So what you said happens to not be the case. Also, the MP40 is not more accurate like WWII games would have you believe. The statement that the "MP44 is the best weapon of WWII" also has no basis. Best at what? Yes it makes a good service rifle, but I bet it can't be a sniper's job, or a belt-fed machine gun's job. Submachineguns are still in use today because they have a niche in CQB.
The Vertical Grip and the Horizontal Grip, even the early thompsons 1921,1923,1927,1928 had the same horizontal grip, its just the vertical was a bit more popular.
Geez people, do a google search. What you said is only half true. During the early stages of the war, the us military utilized Thompsons that indeed used forward grips and drum magazines until the simplified M1 and M1A1 versions were available.
just so you people know, the tommy gun is the gun used by gangsters in the 30's - the one with the barrel. The Thompson M1 SMG is a WWII weapon, the one USED IN THIS VIDEO
Actually, what you said is bullshit. The M1 is the simplified version of the M1928 and earlier Thompson Submachinegun. The nickname "tommygun" is what it was referred to during the 1920s. To call the US military M1 Thompson which is the same basic design as the earlier civilian version a "tommy gun" is fine. "Tommygun" was never the official name for the early model Thompson Submachineguns.
Politically correct or not, you are still correct. Most German soldiers were not politcally-sdied with the nazi party. That's like calling all american soldiers republicans because that's the political party of Bush
As a german translator of SS Schutzstaffel document, many within the SS were members of the Nazi party. Many of the regular Wehrmacht were not however.
