I just saw this movie again recently after so many years ago......this movie is a masterpiece!! Awesome cast, such realism...I just adored this film!! Renee and Joseph...an amazing couple!!
@giles422 They are re-running it--I'm watching it right now. Just do a search of the Fox Movie channel to locate the next airing. I loved their seventies comedy specials, btw--especially a 3-skit special that I think was called "One Night in Paradise." Among other things they spoofed a Famous Movie Couple trying to salvage their relationship. Hilarious! They also memorably teamed up with Carol Burnett for her PBS special about alcoholism. ("Drink, Drank, Drunk" I think it was called.)
I have been bombarding amazon.com why this movie is not on video or dvd. This movie is a national treasure. The scene in the movie where Pandora and Gig go to his parents' home for Christmas dinner, with the great Olympia Dukasis and and Paul Sorvino playing Gig's parents. Worth the price of admission.
Maybe HBO has something to do with this. Licensing problems maybe. Just let it go. 40 years later let us have this treasure on DVD. won't you please!
@lucycatism I don't know what the problem is. It could be they just don't think it's popular enough, but a ton of unpopular movies get released on DVD everyday. I do think this film heavily influenced Annie Hall and was a landmark film in the romantic comedy genre that would become big in the late 70's and 80's.
@evagrubb I have read comments on IMDb and on Amazon from people who really love this movie. So sad, a new generation of movie lovers would buy the DVD.
so sad that renee's mom didnt get to be in this :(

Great flick! I haven't been able to find it anywhere. Do you have any more clips of it to post? How about the group therapy scene?

Why do some great films never get released on DVD?

@johnmcmarlin Probably never. It never even got a videotape release. It's too bad Bologna and Taylor could due a great 2nd audio commentary.
