This was and still is my favourite video game.... Why aren't games like this any more... hardly any new video games are worth playing now, they are all shitty attempts at making something similar to something else... this game is the shit =D

This was probably my favourite level of the game, although I also loved Creepy Castle. I had a lot of fun playing this game back when I was in high school.

@rexikluk COD troll. Its hard for them to accept that games with less than half of graphic potential are way better than that bullshit. Just look at FF7 or DK64.
This music is so lovely and peaceful. However, Fungi Forest was a real challenge! I struggled to figure out how to get night time. The switch did not have any fruit or nut on it! My siblings figured that out. The rabbit drove me nuts. He was worse than the beetle! Plus when I finally battled the boss, it took me quite a while before I could send that crazy bug Dodagon to HELL instead of me going there!
There are tons of games to choose as my favorite for the N64, but lets face it, i'm a Raretard and always will be, so the B-K series, DK64, and Conker are my favorite N64 games!

@XBlackSquareX Dude trust me, you only had a taste, playing the game itself is so much more rewarding. If you really want it, I say you do everything in your power to get it. It may not be the same playing it now vs. playing it as a child... but still, its an awesome experience.
@FredTaylor28Fan Funny, there was a scrapped level called Fungus Forest for BK, but due to production time it didn't make it. It had a similar level design and music as well!
@TheLeon2991 I recommend jumping from a high point with Tiny and doing the Pony Tail whirl with this in the background. It's like it was made for that.
This was the hardest level for me - certain thing took me ages to work out, and, come on, it had a really difficult race against an owl, and a duracell ultra-powered bunny, plus the level is COLOSSAL!
@nawaf10soccer Nah it still is. Its basically the daddy of all 3D consoles. I don't count the SEGA console or the Play Station, those weren't nearly as successful as the N64.
this song reminds me of jumping up the tower at the middle of the forest and changing the time from day to night, or possibly messing with those jumping tomatoes that were on this level
@II0485II I was thinking the same thing. But I wouldn't want it to be a complete remake like SM64. I wouldn't mind them adding a few extra world's though if they were as good as the originals. They could add a snow level like Gorilla Glacier, or Bee Hive level Like Hornet Hole, or a swamp level like Mudhole Marsh, I could go on forever. There are so types of levels they could add to a remake. Maybe they could even add in Kiddy and Dixie. Sound good?

I think the part of this level I liked the most was the area where you had to race that rabbit. The leaves falling and the colors, oh! it was just spectacular.
Grant Kirkhope is an amazing composer, but really David Wise should have done the music for this game so it would feel more like Donkey Kong and less like Banjo-Kazooie.
This would have been one of my favorite levels next to creepy castle and my fav frantic factory, but then there was a rabbit sleeping near a starting line...the rest is history.

This was like the Click Clock Wood of DK64...Not that I'm complaining too much. The fact that Rare made the levels in their games so big means they put a lot of effort into them.
@orewakokun I know that Rare left them years ago and since David Wise, Grant Kirkhope, Steve Malpass & the Stampers are gone I think the company is really suffering.
By the way Rare was sneaky enough to put in an N64 in Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. as to why I think they want to pay hommage to the consoles that Banjo started on
1 Nintendo bought the rights to the games, since they know it would be profitable.
2 RARE Never owned DK or Star Fox. The original DK was developed by Shigeru Miyamoto, so maybe RARE was only the developers without any ownership in the later games.
I liked the level, but the killer tomatoes scarred me for life. So now i fear that lime green entrance. I also had to get the homing upgrade in crystal caves. But the fungi theme, excellent!
Fungi Forest is my favorite level! i love it during the day, its the perfect place to spend like a saturday morning and afternoon cuz its so peaceful! but for me at night its kinda scary, but i love it during the day

.....What? First off, the game was rated E, so obviously the use of the word "hell" was taken lightly. Second, that's not animal abuse, since the animals are attacking each other. I mean, you don't call it animal abuse when a lion attacks its prey, do you? Third, that doesn't make it underrated. If a game is underrated, it means that people don't give it the credit it deserves. It doesn't mean that the game contained inappropriate things.....

rare being bought by microsoft ruined the whole videogame market.
look at the games we got back then and now.
some games are still decent (zelda, mario galaxy) but not as interesting as back then.
when rare went to microsoft, there were no standards any more, so they made cod (fucking worst thing that ever happened).
now hardcore means shooters, thankfully people still think that nes, snes and n64 are still hardcore!!!!

This was like the Click Clock Wood of DK64...Not that I'm complaining too much. The fact that Rare made the levels in their games so big means they put a lot of effort into them.

Sorry to tell you, but Rare, the developers of this game, is long since sold to Microsoft. And thus, the rights of games like DK, BK, Starfox.
The last game they ever made for Nintendo was Starfox Adventures for Gamecube, I think.
But, since Grant Kirkhope (composer) quit, Rare games doesn't really have that "feel" to them anymore.

@orewakokun I know that Rare left them years ago and since David Wise, Grant Kirkhope, Steve Malpass & the Stampers are gone I think the company is really suffering.
By the way Rare was sneaky enough to put in an N64 in Banjo Kazooie Nuts & Bolts. as to why I think they want to pay hommage to the consoles that Banjo started on

If that's true, it must be because either:
1 Nintendo bought the rights to the games, since they know it would be profitable.
2 RARE Never owned DK or Star Fox. The original DK was developed by Shigeru Miyamoto, so maybe RARE was only the developers without any ownership in the later games.

this level is awesome. the music is beautiful as is the forest, but it kinda gets scary at night.

I liked the level, but the killer tomatoes scarred me for life. So now i fear that lime green entrance. I also had to get the homing upgrade in crystal caves. But the fungi theme, excellent!

Fungi Forest is my favorite level! i love it during the day, its the perfect place to spend like a saturday morning and afternoon cuz its so peaceful! but for me at night its kinda scary, but i love it during the day

Also, possible key to the lost Stop n' Swop, but that makes it more mysterious and beautiful! Specially all of the BK NOISES IN THE BG THAT I JUST EHARED FOR THE FIRST TIME

This music plays when he wakes up and gets dressed eats breakfast etc

no it was for banjo kazooie 1, but the level was scrapped, and later reused for Donkey kong

JungleDyrene:because of some of the things that happens in the game in Dk rap he says "One Hell Of A Guy" pluse There is Volience Like Donkey Kong Is an animal And some of the Creatures are animals as well so when they are attacking each other that is "Animal Abuse" so thats how it is underrated

.....What? First off, the game was rated E, so obviously the use of the word "hell" was taken lightly. Second, that's not animal abuse, since the animals are attacking each other. I mean, you don't call it animal abuse when a lion attacks its prey, do you? Third, that doesn't make it underrated. If a game is underrated, it means that people don't give it the credit it deserves. It doesn't mean that the game contained inappropriate things.....

Actually, GamePlayer20096 is right. If they were to rerelease this game exactly as was they would give it a T rating.
- Grenades
- Guns
- Swearing (They've taken the "hell" out of all subsequent versions of the song)
- "Scary" imagery
They rate things much more strictly now than they used to.
