Goldman Sachs made $2.5 billion profit through AIG according to Goldman's CEO. This profit was from their junk mortgages which they packaged and then bet against. Goldman CEO in the recent congressional hearing repeated three times that their bets was insured by AIG and a private insurer. Mr. Giethner why was it 100 percent necessary to pay Goldman Sachs $1 to $1 from our tax money when according to its CEO they would've gotten paid by the private insurer? Why didn't you negotiate on our behalf?
