OTOH THEY needed his spark/vision to keep on, the pivotal singles etc (tho Q is WAY more than BoRhap, KQ etc.) Queen is NOT Smile just as Queen is more than F. Earth/Goin' Back didn't make Q legends any more than Green!
Great interview. Only wish it was longer. Only thing that would've made it better is if John Deacon would be willing to appear with them once in a while. I'd also love to know what they think Freddie would say about the music business today and things like X Factor. They knew him so well, I'll bet they could come up with some hilarious comments he might have made about all this. ;)

Freddie's previous bands went NOWHERE, even with him IN the band...and as far as Smile, when Tim left Brian and Roger, then the seeds of QUEEN HISTORY were born. Freddie went NOWHERE previous to Brian and Roger and they went NOWHERE previous to Freddie. But when they go together...well...you know the rest...

I think personally that without Freddie there would have no Qúeen. Of corse there was the skills of Brian May in guitar playing. But Freddie Mercury was the Queen.
FinnMove...without Brian and Roger, there would have never been an opportunity for Freddie to bother Brian and Roger to form Queen. Get your history down. I love Brian and Roger but of course we all believe that Queen would never have seen the light of day without Freddie, bless his heart.
