Oh my god, I wish just searching videos of Porgy and Bess and came across this. Aretha is a beast, a freak of musical nature. She is one of the FEW people I say who can literally sing ANYTHING. Just doesn't make any sense. This made my day. Lawd have mercy Queen.
I was allways mad at Ray Charles, becourse it was´nt Aretha on his Porgy and Bess Projekt. Untill this moment I did´nt know that Aretha recorded this song. Wonderfull. Thank You for uploading, thanks a lot.
Thanks soooooooooo much for posting this...I had it on a CBS compilation LP and it's scratched to buggery. This version just aces all other covers of this great Gershwin classic.
For reasons why it ain't necessarily so & top philosophy of religion & sceptical analysis of Bible try Robert M Price, John W. Loftus, Dan Barker, Victor J. Stenger. @zytigon Of course! Most people just believe what they are told without questioning! You just have to look at the history of the time to understand the religions of abraham and their political intentions.
you can try to listen to everybody's version of this theme. even jamie cullum sings it. BUT NONE OF THEM CAN EVEN GET TO THE TOES OF THIS GIANT VOICE! BIG MOMMA ARETHA FOREVER
We're lucky Aretha went to Atlantic to record her soul masterpieces. She could have easily stayed at Columbia and become a jazz legend. The woman is a musical genius.
I hear she did a duet in 1959 of the same song with Bobby Darin. If anyone can post that, they would win the Internet.
