I think every Blind Melon album is a great album...my heart's on their self titled debut because nothing beats your first taste of Blind Melon. But that doesn't make it better than Nico, Soup or For My Friends. Blind Melon's just a band that makes timeless beautiful music.
lets start a discussion on these lyrics. I love blind melon lyrics and these lyrics seem to be very abstract. I read that shannon had this obsession that jerry garcia named his dog god. there is a line that says "and maybe the hunters dog called god could be my friend in time" perhaps we are hunted down by religion? any thoughts

He simply wanted to make it look easy to understand, so it becomes harder for people to see it with the second meaning which is more of a depressed one.
There's so much symbolism to this video. Metaphors. He has a goal and destroys something beautiful for the water, trips and destroys his 'light' while not looking, barely vaults the couch only to plow down his friends. When he solves the problem (messily) he looks back to see a greater problem where he began and the huge extinguisher he had beside the bed the whole time if he'd only bothered to notice. Dwell on it.

@blacksabbathgnr098 it's a great video man, it's rich in metaphor, and has something to say about paranoia. most bands dream of making a video for their music that actually has some substance and character and manages to stand out from the dirge, this video does all those things. I think it captures the spirit of the music brilliantly. If you have a problem go listen to the song on it's own, watch a video and expect to be involved in what you see, it's pretty simple really.

They both have entirely different messages.I would rather have a video that in some way matched the message of the song. WIth this video, you have two messages being communicated at once and it forces you to choose which to listen to. The song is brilliant but the video is simple and distracting.
