my four year old with cerebral palsy can create this LMAO. People have been fooled into believing that moving paint around is art. There is nothing in that "Painting" if you can all it that, that has any meaning whatsoever. Randomly throwing paint around does not constitute art.
@Dsr122076 umm im sorry to say this but this is what you call modern art. it is people like you that have to learn how colors can be put together and that art is not something that has to make sense it just is what it is!
I always saw abstract art a more a study on color theory and things like that rather than subject matter. The really cool ones are ones where the artist was able to work with color or even shape to appeal to what people know intuitively. Where the poor ones that people often poke fun of are the ones that fail to grasp the intuition of the viewers to move them in a uniform direction, so it is rejected by the viewer.
Painting looked really wonderful until about 1:50. After that all the interesting shapes were destroyed. Those hard red edges were gorgeous up until then.
Abstract art deals with choices_ surface, mark making, space, composition, scale, materials and INTENTIONALITY.
The video successfully addresses the importance of marks, starts with bold marks and very interesting shapes. Extends these with intentional choices.
At some point , loses some of the best shapes_yet this happens to every artist _even with one stroke or a drip of paint you may lose the essence_Very instructive indeed.
@MsUltramarineDeep Abstract art, nonfigurative art, nonobjective art, and nonrepresentational art are loosely related terms. They are similar, although perhaps not of identical meaning.

dumb & dumber !!!!
This video is clearly by a faux-artist who has no idea what painting is about, abstract or non-abstract
I can see Joan Mitchell and Milton Resnick trying to crawl out of their graves to puke.

@Bradelff with you on this - simplifies and ignores everything that is complex about an 'abstract' piece of art

@Bradelff I do NOT agree...
