  • Lol jason kidd won his first ring as a 39 year old and grant is still highly effective at age 39. you people honestly think jordan wouldnt destroy the league today? get real! look at the video again. you cant defend those fadeaway and cross overs.

  • Uh what? Prime Mike would destroy in todays NBA due to easier defense and rules favoring offense. He was having 40 point games when he was 40 years old for gods sake. The game has not "evolved". It's gotten worse.

  • mj is good, the sad thing that people don't realize is that the game has evolved and mj wouldn't be able to do the things he did here in today's game! all i'm saying is that jordan was the blueprint for guys like kobe wade and lebron who used jordan to become better and more skilled players... just like jordan did with guys like oscar robertson dr j and etc...

  • Would he did to Ray Allen at 1:45 is just ridiculous. Moving without the ball

  • 1:13 wide open ray allen... not somthing you want to hear ever

  • @Airbear12321 unless you're either his teammate, coach or a fan of his team.

  • beautiful

  • look stop hating on kobe.no hes not better than michael. but hes the closet thing we have ever seen to him. he is a better shooter, not better on defense, and not as creative. hes just a good a passer as well. kobes the secnd greatest 2 guard of all time. he has passed west and baylor in all time lakers records, no other two guard comes close. hell kobes one of th etop 5 players of all time easily

  • How many of you guys realized you were watching the best player that you would ever see when you were watching MJ? I did. Every time he was on TV, I made a point to stop what I was doing and watch. I'm glad I did. GOAT!

  • adante needs to stay off that pipe

  • That dunk in traffic at 4:05...how many 35 year olds can explode to the rim like that and stuff it over 3 people?

  • ray allen is only young here how was he going to guard a prime jordan.

  • @brent6corn

Jordan was 35ish here he's past his prime. But he's definitely mooore fundamentally sound and smarter.

  • @brent6corn ...what?.....how is this prime mj?......kobe bryant is 32 yrs old right now,and isnt even coming close to what mike did in 1998......mike was 35 yrs old this year.....

at 35 mike was a far better player and athlete than kobe ever was.......guys arent in their prime at 35....as great as mike was in his later years, his best yrs were 1993 and before

  • @shaqpopcorn34 you do know you use one full stop or a comma when you end a sentence not 8.

  • @brent6corn ....you do know that shut the fuck up

  • @shaqpopcorn34 haha what?

  • damn, ray ray's shot looks so sweet as always.

  • Watch MJ school Allen at 1:42. That was sick. He'd school anyone with that move.

  • 1:42-1:47 lol ray allen is lost

  • are u fucking kidding me hes like 35 or 34 in this and hes dunking on people at 4:00 u gotta be shitting me

  • He Got Game

  • That no look, behind-the-back toss up by Jordan in black and white at the beginning of this video is one of my all time favorite MJ moves, even though it didn't look like it counted.

  • Took Ray Allen to school...but then again, he was like in his second year in the league..while MJ was chasing for that 6th championship that he eventually won

  • How many points did Allen get?

  • @dragoncoolguy He only got 11 this game. Big Dog matched Jordan with 44 and Luc Longley nearly put up a triple double, 24 pts, 9 rebs, 8 asts.

  • Ray Allen didn't know then he would be wearing Jordan's in the future.

  • I'm guessing this is before Jordan gave Ray the shoe contract?

  • Jordan in his prime would destroy Kobe Bryant and anyone else today. If only people were smart enough to realize that.

  • @scottie2333 He wouldn't destroy him, but if it was a 1 on 1 game up to 11 it would end 11 to 8 with Jordan winning.

  • @rg31andonly

lol those are oddly specific numbers.

  • @CorpusCallosal lol. My point was it would be a close game.

  • @scottie2333 true. Not saying that Kobe would not be great but when looking to Kobe's career, his primetime is already over at the age of 32. MJ was still averaging 30 ppg, shooting almost 50% from the field and was still the best player in the NBA at the age of 35.

  • Que elegancia la de Jordan para jugar, qué conocimiento del juego, que precisión, qué creatividad, qué determinación... nadie más que el merece el título de "Su Majestad".

  • wow Jordan at 36 years old still in better shape than most NBA players...his quick feet, quick hands, quick movements and quick reactions were unmatchable.

MJ is truely the greatest guard to ever played the game.

  • @SupraGT510 Not only the greatest guard, The GREATEST PLAYER EVER!!!

  • Yo MJ was beastin in this game!! did he travel at 5:10 tho?? haha i know I aint callin it!

Keep up the videos man. Love it

  • MJ all day! A Day without a MJ Video is a waste

  • thanks again hoops, great effort!

  • best parts were MJ poster dunk and Rodmans three pointers lol

  • This is a 36 year old man for christ sake!

Yet he is still schooling everybody with ease.

    MJ forever!

  • @ hoopsencyclopedia, i think that Dennis Rodman hit 3 three pointers in a row in that game but last one 5:48 didnt count because of steping out of bounds.

  • Great memory - you're right. I didn't include all three of them and the last one didn't count but it still looked good!

  • @hoopsencyclopedia You're best. Best videos, best info,....the best. Keep up the great work.

  • man MJ was sooo smooth- love watching the man play basketball- completely in control of his body- like a dancer.

and to think- he missed 2 years of his prime- 30-32- his very very prime in fact- imagine what he couldve done then- 8 rings perhaps?!?

  • Yes

  • MJ is 34 or 35 here. He still was able to lead the league in scoring and shoot about 50%

  • I hate that every MJ vid ends up with kobe homers tryin to say he's the GOAT. Kobe is best of his generation and similar to Mike, but not on his level. Bottom line: Kobe QUIT on his team in Game 7 of the Suns series 06 and Game 6 of the Finals 08!!!! That's 2 elimination games that he threw in the towel. That entire Celts Finals he pretty much stayed parked behind the 3 pt line; total opposite of MJ in 98 GAme 7 Pacers attacking the basket over and over and getting to the line.

    MJ GOAT forever!

  • @arkade2345 And now the most important game of his life he shoots 25pct or sum shit. Jordan was next level.

  • Kobe's good, but he's nowhere nearly as mentally skilled as Jordan was. Jordan used to intimidate people mentally and emotionally the way Shaq intimidates people physically. The way MJ & KB play the game is similar, no doubt, but Jordan's game was just so much more effective for the Bulls compared to Kobe for the Lakers. Jordan was able to do more with less, and he looked better doing it.

  • He's the most dominant basketball player ever!!

  • Carmelo Anthony = modern day/era Glenn Robinson

Same size & virtually IDENTICAL #'s...looking at the way Melo plays & looking back at how Big Dog played the game, they have virtually the SAME game..

Under these new defensive rules however, you'd be able to tack on extra 4 to 6 more pts to his (robinson's) career avg of 21ppg LOL!!

  • I don't think 'Melo is Glenn Robinson. 'Melo is a much better ball handler than Glenn Robinson. I don't think Robinson did as much as inside as Anthony either. I'd take 'Melo over Glenn Robinson any day.

  • Wow look at MJ's quickness at 3:22... The quickest first step of all time!

  • the fadeaway at 1:21 is just perfect so smooth

  • I cant believe this was 1998, Jordan looks like he was extra fresh for this game. I remember a lot of games he looked old in 98 but he looked 24 yo here especially at 4:07

  • at 1 :41 ray looks foolish

  • i will buy ur lakers jersey and get ur autograph

  • some highlight reels really make Jordan like a ball hog, but with that much talent who woldn't hog

  • boy young ray ray got murdered by jordan all game...an sick poster on glenn robinson even tho he did his thang as well

  • Wow, this is what makes MJ the greatest of all time. Even when he scores 40+, it just seems so effortless. Even at 35, he's not even breathing hard. Another great upload Hoops!

  • This is mj when he was older watch his games in the early 90s and 80s for highlight reel material

  • @radioflyer96 MJ's 35 years old in this video. Kobe's 31, let's see how Kobe looks in 4 more years.

  • MJ = GOAT

i remember this game..especially with rodman made those 3 pointers..lol.

    thanx for posting

  • love jordan, but he traveled on that flip over the head shot. if you look at the slow mo highlight in the beginning, he takes 2 steps per dribble, then 3 at the end. such quick footwork makes it hard to call in real time though.

  • its ok. refs make mistakes too.

  • Jordan is 34 or 35 years of age here. He still led the league in scoring and shot 50%. That's remarkable.

  • where do u get these? Did you tape every MJ Game?

  • 3uck you. Read what I said dumb ass. You're probably a Kobe fan.

  • The fact that MJ takes a lot of good shots speaks volumes about his basketball IQ and skill. He takes many good shots because he is very good at moving without the ball. He doesn't need to run around like a headless chicken a la Reggie and Rip. Watch MJ move without the ball, it is an absolute clinic on how to efficiently use one's teammates and the tendencies of the defender. Some of the moves he makes off the ball are embarrassingly simple yet so effective in getting that open look.

  • It's not just shot selection. MJ is much much more efficient. In fact, he is one of the most efficient guards to ever play. Excluding his years in Washington, he shot better than 50% in his career, which is absolutely remarkable for a guard. That means he takes good shots, and he makes shots (whether good or bad).

  • the best ever

  • in terms of style, today wade is similar to jordans..but i think lebron is a scoring beast

  • LOL Rodman shooting 3 pointers

  • and people actually think lebron and kobe is better than jordan. look at all that contact and jordan still scored like there were no defense. if today's nba has tighter/tougher defense like that lebron and kobe wouldn't even score that much

  • lebron would, mainly cuz he's a physical beast. But Jordan>Kobe+LeBron

  • What a freakin monster.

  • Yep he sure did say that. I remember many shots Jordan hit over people. It's not his fault that he jumped higher than everyone else. I don't recall Mike shooting three straight air balls in Utah either....

  • you are right. mj also happened to be a lot faster and quicker off the dribble, and had tremendous footwork with and without the ball to lose his defenders even in a clutch time. it is absurd for everyone to forget all these and think anyone nowadays are better. in fact mj is still way ahead of everyone now.

  • Just a thought...is it just me or did Jordan seem quicker at 35 years old in 1997-98 season than he did in the previous season and ESPECIALLY 1995-96? He didn't drive as much in '96-'97 shooting 576 foul shots compared to '97-'98 when he shot 721. And that was when you didn't go to the line if a defender's pinky finger scraped your forearm.

  • NUTRIDER

  • J.A. Adante just said that he would take Kobe over Mike as to who is most clutch. He said that he isn't sure that Jordan could make contested game winning shots as Kobe does. I just lost respect for Mr. Adante.

  • @MIKESOWELL Did he really say that? What a tool!

  • @MIKESOWELL Though he's a cock sucker for certain players, what he's basically trying to say is that MJ has a better shot selection compared to kobe, which is true. Anything contested too badly ends up being a game winning assist. Adande actually said that kobe is the best at shooting hard/bad shots in clutch, which may be true, but then again he shoots a lot of hard shots unnecessarily sometimes, while jordan looks more for the better looks toward the basket.

  • yes, kobe takes way too many bad shots compared to jordan. kobe makes alot of those shots and that seems to make up for alot.

  • @MIKESOWELL J.A. Adande? The guy on around the horn? Fuck, same here man, I'm not gonna take anything he says seriously anymore. I hope he got like a thousand points taken away for that stupidity.

  • @MIKESOWELL wtf. adante should be killed for saying something so dumb.

  • @MIKESOWELL That guy is a joke! His sport knowledge is overrated. I remember watching him on one of those espn spouting garbage. He's probably from LA too. lol

  • @MIKESOWELL I didnt get a chance to see MJ play because i was like 13 when he retired, but from what i have heard from many sports analysts is that MJ had more of a skill in getting open at the end of the game and hitting the easy shot and Kobe just makes contested shots, so what Adande is saying has some validity to it

  • @pacersfan1 But who in the world would want their go to guy taking a potential game winning shot falling away over two defenders from 26 feet out, when he can work his way into a 17 foot open jumper? Don't get me wrong, Kobe has made some incredible shots over the years. But did you know that Kobe has made only about 25% of his game winning attempts, while Mike made 56%? ESPN or J.A. Adante will NEVER tell you that. I just did...

  • @MIKESOWELL I completely agree, i was just trying to back up adande a bit...do you by any chance know how many more shots kobe has taken in comparison to jordan?

  • @pacersfan1 I will concede that Kobe has attempted more game winning shots than Mike. I have forgotten the exact numbers....

  • @MIKESOWELL Adande is obviously retarded

  • @Silverpatrone15 Yes he is.

  • @MIKESOWELL adante is a rape boy who snitches to he don.t know shit about b ball

  • jordan off the ball is magical, he is really one of the most intilligent basketball players ever

  • lol dennis for the 33333

  • MJ GOAT. Of course.

  • Bill Simmons "book of basketball" perfectly explains why MJ is THE goat & always will be! Even in 98 he was still making some sick highlight moves. IMO the 97 jordans were HORRIBLE to play in & very uncomfortable.I think it slowed MJ down that year. 98 he looked like he had a new spring in his step b/c those J's are lighter & feel better. I've played in all the J's &97 are least favorite to play in.too stiff

  • which were the J's he wore in 97?

  • ohhh nevermind . . they look like the 13's.

  • they are 13's

  • cant remember 95's to me best with the shinny bit around the top of the feed the black and red one's not the white and black

  • @ 1:44-1:46 that is basketball, just look at the knowledge jordan has just to free himself up, didnt have the speed like he had at that point still able to do what he wants.

  • i cant agree more. i remember having the red/white one thought it was so cool. cheaply made in china, bulky and very uncomfortable.

i always wonder if what jordan wore were made differently..probably not.

  • No way I can watch this and then try to watch today's NBA.

  • MJ's got endless highlights EVERY GAME! That's why today's NBA seem boring to watch!

  • @ForEmily4 I'm from the future and the Bulls are KICKIN ASS right now! If Isaiah Thomas and the Bad Boys put on Bulls jerseys, played with the same intense defense WITHOUT dirty tactics; they would be the 2011 Bulls!

  • the first few seconds wer amazing...jordan is simply the beast!!! was expecting a pass but he decided to flip it over his head and in...amazing!!

  • rayray!

  • Was this the game after Ray Ray made some comments in the press about Jordan? Something along the lines of ''I can guard him!''

  • dennis hit 3 in a row

  • nice MEn !!

  • love dennis

  • nice vid again .. mj goat

  • lol love the dennis rodman at the end

  • Good times, good times.

  • it's amazing to see how much better jordan was than anybody else in the league. kobe is a great player but he doesn't or is not able to totally dominate ANYONE that guards him.

  • that's what u called pound 4 pound king if you can beat the guard or the best defensive player on your face .. :)

  • nice add hoops! man ray allen as a young buck. good times.

  • goat

  • as good as always hoops thanks :)

  • man MJ will always be my favorite basketball player of all time i grew up watching him when i was a kid

  • @juangarcia2007 I feel you dude. Same here. Brings back memories of the good 'ol days.....G.O.A.T.!!!

  • Money just put Big Dog on a poster!

  • wow ray ray looked young. Thanks for uploading this, this is vintage shit.

  • Who on 2nd ?
