The ancient Greeks actually knew nothing of human rights; after all, they practised slavery and infanticide, and worshipped gods who went around raping and killing humans or driving them insane or making them kill their own parents or children. Chinese spys hiding their faces and being protected by Greek secret police. This is modern Greece? Its as bad as when the generals ran the place.

My dear american friend, judge your country first about Iraq, Afghanistan, Vietnam, Native Americans, and then you can ''shame'' others. America suddenly remembered Tibet but they were the ones, together with Britain than actually helped China to attack them. Don't you read history books? If they were interrupting the Pope inside the Vatican, you would all be shocked. The Holy Flame is not less important. No one accused Tibet for wanting their freedom from chinese suppression.What a hypocrisy!

Not everything that our Government does we agree with. There are many that wish to pull out of Iraq. I myself am not happy with how the US has treated Native Americans, & for Vietnam, you'd think our presidents would learn to learn a lesson.
Just because our government has done [or is doing] stuff that you [and we] don't agree with, doesn't make the people hypocritical.

And by the way, we better be objective my friends. China is wrong yes, but it's not the only country that has done very bad things too, so let's not forget that in the matter of the flame and Olympic Games, they are not the only bad boys in the block. Are we going to punish only China, or any country that behaves and behaved in the past like them but never apologized? We must share our rightful anger equally.

wtf is it with people coming down on the greek authorities for this? the greeks did exactly what any other country would have done EXCEPT (considering they had to do there jobs) the greeks were friendly and understanding in the video unlike other nations security!!!!!!

thodor1 for your information. There is a very strict law regarding all the archeological sites in Greece. None is allowed to enter without special permission. The Tibetan team tried to enter the site by force, so they were stopped by the guards.Your comments regarding Greek guards being bribed by chinese officials are unfounded. The Greek guards did what they had to do. Prevent unauthorised individuals from entering the archeological site.

That was indeed an ugly situation in which you the Tibetan representatives found yourselves. I can't help but wonder how much the Chinese officials bribed the Greek guards to interfere with what was supposed to be a solemn and beautiful ceremony! But you all-particularly Tsultrim Gope-handled yourselves magnificently and did not allow yourselves to resort to violence.Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. King would be proud (as am I). FREE TIBET!!!!!!!

Hypocrisy and the arrogance was all this Chinese official displayed to the whole world. Mouthing the same response which clearly didnt work for him, all this official could finally say was "stupid". If it was in Tibet he probably would have just shoot that person who was interviewing him. I could not believe that Greek police would be that low to tow the chinese line. This shows that China is now on a defensive, what the Tibetans did, was for me the true spirit of the Olympics.
