HOLY SHIT!!!! I was about 9 years old when this was released!!!! This is one of my favorite dance classics here!!!! I used to hear this on WBMX here in Chicago (I miss that station so much) and I still love it today!!!! Of course, my other favorite classics are "Moskow Diskow," "L'amour Tojour," "Peanuts," "Beautiful Life," and "L'amour Tojour." Thank you so much for bringing me back to Dance Classics Lane!!!! YOU ARE DA MAN!!!! Added to my playlist!!!!
@protectorofillinois2 GLAD YOU LOVES IT, me too, this was the version I heard in Chicago, but I was not 9 back in the 80s, he he he, damn you trying to make me look old here, he he he
wow heard this on a theo parrish mix,,,,, total standout track, he plays it pitched up by 2 0r 3... sounds even better.... ta for upload.. gonna check for more of this.... c
Razormaid mixes kick ass, but this is pretty close to the original version for most of the song, Telex is a great band that was doing more stuff with sequencing and arpeggiation before most other bands even knew what it was. Check out their other songs...Peanuts, Spike Jones, Brainwash, Temporary Chicken and I Don't Like Music...It's all amazing.
I love RAZORMAID but I have to diagree with you on it being the same as the original I listened to them both closely and I feel that the RAZORMAID version has more BASSLINE, has more drums added, has a funkier tempo and some of the chords that were more highpitched sound deeper in the RAZORMAID, i fell in love with this version the moment I heard it back on B96 in Chicago in the 80s!!! I just heard BRAINWASH during a workout and loved listening to it......Peanuts is HOT!!!!
yeah razormaid is like a magazine, if i remember correctly... i never quite understood it, but i guess it was ahead of its time (or at least ahead of my time)... anyway wiki has this: Razormaid! (a.k.a. Razormaid Productions) is a subscription based remix service for DJs which releases 12" records and CDs containing special remixes of songs by various artists. The company was started in 1984 by Art Maharg and Joseph Watt, financed by a US$1000 bank loan.
Well actually they should have put out some CDs since they are a DJ service, but I bought the remix CD of TELEX and this version actually was not on that Remix CD, that version they had could not touch this one. I loved this one for years, this is the one I always heard on the mix stations and kept saying who is that, but noone knew........
