I would not recommend this jailbreak on the 3GS my iPhone is really buggy I have restore and done it three times and it's always buggy but I used redsnow and there are like no glitches at all so just use reds or if you have any problems

OK, so people, if your ipsw can't be recognised, download it from itunes. it will be saved in C:\Users\(name)\AppData\Roamin­g\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

this will be a usable ipsw

@dacruzjr Rename the file so that it is called something like "Custom431.ipsw". The Custom431 can be anything you want the file to be named just make sure it has the extension .ipsw. That should convert it into an "Apple Device Software Update File" instead of a ZIP file.

@tajeah You need to update your firmware in iTunes first. If you already done that, search "4.3.1 Firmware IPSW" on Google, and re-download. Then try again.

okay i jailbroke my 32 gb ipod touch using the new redsnow jailbreak and so far this has been the easiest jailbreak use and i remember my first gen ipod touch quite well, best jailbreak up to date, my one and only concern is why yourtube2, a jailbreak youtube downloading application dosent work properly on this new jailbreak software, when i open my downloaded movies it exits the youtube application... help would be appreciated :D

the easiest way to get an ipsw is actually letting itunes download it, if you already upgraded/updated to 4.3.1 you can find the ipsw in a folder, using THAT ipsw will work just fine, it saves a ton of time not having to re-download the file from the 3rd party website...

I've been wondering something, maybe you guys can help. I've got a Ipod touch 4g 34 gig. I downloaded/torrented a bunch of apps from here/this torrent in preparation for Jailbreak (I've never jailbroken or done anything like this before) and waited for the Untethered 4.3.1 Jailbreak.

Up till now I've tried installing the apps but I keep getting error messages. Today I succesfully jailbroke my Idevice (on OSX) have the Cydia icon but the apps still won't work. Please help! What should I get/do?
