M'Boom was a monstrously creative percussion ensemble, easily incorporating contemporary classical and free jazz into African traditions and other global sounds. In this vid you can see Warren Smith playing a killer xylophone solo as he often did, tearing up the rosewood with ferocious glissandi and tireless runs. Almost single handedly he liberated the xylophonist from orchestral excerpts and ragtime ditties. Smith always played the ax like a contemporary jazz voice! As it should be.
@logandorian Thx for the words. Few Donald Byrd ones ... Hubbard, the oldest I think I have ( him as leader, not accompanist ) is from 1966 in Molde, with european musicians. It is on my page. Cheers.

Seriously, thanks for all the videos, Love it! Not to be greedy, but If you are holding onto any Donald Byrd or early Freddie Hubbard, bring it on!!
