People arguing about other aspects of form. You guys forget mentioning that the worst part if not locking your elbows. By not locking them you can get elbow join injuries.
dude that form is not perfect. he has to touch his chest right below his nipples. if you dont believe me then look at the powerlifting videos and you see it touches their chest right below their nipples
There is no one way to perform a bench press...you can lower the bar to the neck, mid chest, lower chest. He's just demonstrating a standard bench press.
The rules of powerlifting define the chest as finishing "at the base of the sternum breastbone"...the bar can be lowered & pressed from any part of the chest, the nipples have nothing to do with it.
if you think someone coming on here and advising people who have may have never been in a gym before is "perfect form" then you my friend are the idiot type in suicide grip on here and look at the accidents "perfect form "ha
what suicide grip you mean with out using the thumbs? how bout how tall he has the rests? how easy do you think that would be with 150+ lbs on the bar?
He has no weight on the bar because what he is showing you is the form (which is perfect; only an idiot would think otherwise) and to do that no weight is required.
Hi I'm Manny Nanny, I'm here to run my mouth about shit I dont even know. Lifting weights is a great way to build muscle (HOLY SHIT are you serious???)
Its very important that you get every single thing about this move wrong. Use a suicide grip (wrong), narrow grip (wrong), bring down and pause (wrong), push back up and dont lockout (wrong). We wouldn't wanna see you developing any muscles now would we???
I think his prescription for hand spacing is too precise and doesnt take into account individual variation as much as it should. A short person should have a narrower grip than a tall person.
I also think the prescription for no of sets and reps is too precise.
this guy is a tool

back shouldnt be flat, you need to curve it a little so that your chest is sticking out. it helps alot, and raises your lift.
