Yeah... I thought of starting dj'ing cuz its look real cool and fun! :D But should I get cd players or vinyl?? Which is easiest? Isn't it hard to get the beats you want on vinyl? Help is appreciated ;))
sadly i only have a virtual plater like on the computer so i have to use the mouse so its a little harder is there any tricks? for some one in my situation?
@360spider06 Yeah man, there's this trick i used to get me out of that situation! I wend down to the shop, and i bought myself some turntables and some records, and it made everything much easier. A lot of my friends have used this trick too and it's worked every time!
wierd question man but im just starting out ive got 1200s and same slipmats as you. when i let go of the record it doesnt just play at normal speed. the record takes about 1second to catch back up. im sure im putting the right amount of pressure on because if i hold the record the platter is still moving fine. what could be causing it? and cheers for these vids . best tutorials out there
@DJControllerC the platter doesn't have to spin for it to be a baby scratch, the baby scratch is just a back and forth scratch without the crossfader, where you here both the forward and back motions of the scratch
Got exactly the same setup!!! just bought my first set of turntables ever!! and its exactly the same what are the odds! same mixer too! got it for cheap! any way almost mastered this! next lesson
hey DJ Angelo, I've been watching your videos about scratching and i tried it on the Numark Itch and it doesnt sound the same as how you play it in the videos, can you help me? please
@BobbiFresh Hi. That could be due to the torque (or lack of torque) on your turntable. I used to have rubbish tables with very little torque so instead of just letting go of the record I'd give it a little push. It helped a lot. Peace...DJTrueSoul.
I was having fun scratching to my records using the baby scratch/drop combo. Yes, it's very basic, but you can tell that when you are doing it that you are using all the skills of a really good scratch dj.
i know this guy, this is the dude that did the awesome christmas scratching right? man i saw that like two years ago. nice. i remember thinkin 'man i wish i knew what that guy was doin - sure nuff ...here's the best tuts on here
@djhenleys my bad dude, i thought i was still on the Part 1 of the tutorial and you were asking about the biggie tune. i don't know what this track is either - cheers
@quiff96x there are millions of them all over the world, and they are built like Sherman tanks. so get your hands on a pair of used ones...you will be better off than buying any other table brand new..
Great tutorials, by far the best I've seen. This is just what I needed to help me get started with scratching... Thanks a bunch! (Also, I love your intro!) =]
@guitar16 Much more. For only the speakers and amplifiers and cable's i gonna spend around 2000 Euro's. That will cover 400 people. I have now digital versions of turntables. The pioneer 800's with a Dateq XTC Mixer. I bought them second hand for 800 in total. Normal Vinyl turntables cost around 200 euro's i guess and a good mixer around 600 i gues. But the real vinyl plates cost about 20 euros over here in Holland. I hope this helps you.
You might want to change your cartridge, I got some Shure M44-7 which is industry standard and is used in the video. I have some Numark TTX-1's which are fine.
Amazing tutorials!! Big ups to DJ Angelo for putting these up on youtube, you are helping countless people! Just one question, where is that amazing beat at 2:16 from?
Hey Angelo, would you suggest getting a pair of turntables and a mixer of beginner level (Numark/Stanton package), or one good turntable (Stanton st-150/Technics 1200) and a good turntablism mixer (Vestax 05-PMC)? I'm on a budget of 950$
@ruslanio Definantly get some technics 1200s or top of the line turntables and mixer. If you mess with cheap stuff it will break due to the wear and tear that scratching employs on your mixer.

@planbsk8tin if you look at ebay for technics you will find a lot...one new costs round like 700-750€
i got mine used for 350€ each one with an ortofon concorde needle. some on ebay are without needle so you have to look, cause a needle like this costs about 80-120€. the mixer costs round 300€. i recommend that you look on other second hand sites, not ebay, cause there you will find more cheaper tt's and mixers as on ebay.
