@gandykin i did get tickets actually, but theres thousands who didnt thanks to parasites like you! now do us music fans a favour and throw yaself under a bus you souless cretin!
@solarizer i saw one of their last gigs at the apollo manchester just as robbie maddix took over from rene.shortly after that it went tits up for them.yep im a bandwaggoner!didnt think 1 spare ticket would cause you so much upset.
ok so i'm nearly 40. I have grown up with the Stone Roses in Manchester.
I have 2 kids and a wife and been married 10 years. I have a professional skilled job. My life is stable. I tried for 3 hours to get tickets for the reunion.
I didn't get any tickets and have truely been crying.
awesome tune, from an awesome album by an awesome band! the album was very underrated by many but NOT by me! this album is coming in my coffin with me! its should be felt as well as heard!
@scag1975 Yeah definatly, they had too much hopes and expectations for it, considering it took 5years to come after the first album release. But it is a Great tune, amazing album. Most underrated band. Now thats a fact.
I was soaking up this masterpiece of a song back in 95...I can clearly remember the day, because it was just after the news was announced that Squire had broken his shoulder or hand, whatever, and the Glastonbury gig had been cancelled....my last chance to see the Roses live, gone...gutted.
a work of art....squire at his best...solo blows me away...tears is to stone roses fans like slide away is to oasis fans....a never released classic for the fans
beautiful wonderful fabulous masterpiece of truly epic proportions. second coming is fucking brilliant album. anyone who says otherwise is jumping on the bandwagon of all the amateur music critics who know NOWT!!!!
awesome riffage from squire.......yeah i like the album its fucking top drawer kid....play it now against any of the new shit thats comes out and it stands up....AND WINS!!!!.......STONE ROSES FOREVER!
The best albums are the ones that are slow burners. I will never forget my 1st listen to the debut album, I only liked 1 song = Shoot u Down! A few months later I gave it another whirl and thank fuck i did. It hit me like a sledgehammer, never before had I heard such beauty in music. The same happened when I 1st heard Second Coming. I only like Beging You to start with...and then it grew.
The fact of the matter is that music is and always will be subjective - to me both albums are superb. xxx
@mrmagoo1016 I rejected them summer 93 cos I thought they sounded like country and western at first, and nothing like the Trippy Mondays lol! But I taped Adored, Waterfall, Don't Stop and Resurrection then just had to hear everything else... And yeah, Shoot You Down's one of their very best. So's this. Always a favourite.
this song is wonderful ofc i listen to the whole record as it was realesed but went into the shadows for some while hearing it now i can understand how that can have happend this is a masterpeice.
one the best tracks ever done by the roses, period....... n just for the record second cumin is fkn class, masterpiece even, totally underestimed n under valued. yes there debut was is n always will be quality but this album n this song in perticular is amazing. credit where credits due plz....
I listen more and more to the Second Coming ..its a great album.. this being one of my fav songs..and yes there are big influences ripping thru this album, thats what makes it what it is, i can go days where all I listen to is this album.
I'll probably get flamed for saying this, but as much as I love this song and indeed the whole of the 1st and 2nd albums , I can't help thinking it would have sounded even better with singer who could sing. Studio versions are pretty fabulous, but Ian Brown live....
I think the Second Coming just gets better and better through the years. I remember when it got released i wasn't blown away by it but now it does! Amazing
I think this was not very well received at times due to the very clear influences on the album, like this sounds extremely like a Led Zep song in some regards, alot of Page and Hendrix sounds on the whole album while the debut is quite fresh and original, no one had did that before
In terms of guitar work the album is fucking amazing, in terms of song craft it's a little weak as it is over indulgent
This album isn't the debut album, not by a longshot. But this song, Ten Storey Love Song, Begging You, Your Star Will Shine are most definitely written with the same brilliance as any of the classic Roses songs on the debut. They're not meant to be ignored by anyone who gives two shits about the Britpop era, not even the critics who trashed ithem.
Critics are Bloody bullshit atrtists. This is a better album than thier first, hands down. "I cast a shorter shadow with every passing day, No time to think I'm just fading away" Classic man. People are so full of crap they just repeat what they think is the right thing to say.
@gurufish9 ah now..i wouldn't sat it's better than their first. it's good like but the first was amazing, nobody was really creating the sound they came out with at the time. like the chops and melodies are deadly on this album, but even stone roses would say themselves they were coked out of their brains on this album. i love this album but the first is the better one for the sheer deserved impact it had.
@MrHankscorpio100 I'd probably had a few largers when I wrote that, I can't remember it at all. It's probably not as groundbreaking or original as their first, admittedley.. but in terms of musical quality it's underated and a work of art, no album fillers + all quality work. One things for sure it's hands down better than the drivel being produced in the noughties or whatever year it is now.
@gurufish9 ye i'd agree. the noughties are shite for music. oasis were carrying on the legacy. but someone really has to come out and be original these days. all the fuckin artists sound the same. nobody is doing what oasis and stone roses did in their respective times. and band's wonder why they're not as famous or well recieved?? it's because you're not unique, it's been done before!!
Second Coming is one of the most underrated albums of all times! It's an amazing album! As someone said "A flawed masterpiece"... but a masterpiece none the less! (though, yes, first album is untouchable). Stone Rooses forever!
Right lets gets things right! This track and the whole of the second coming album is bloody legendry!! Amazing instrumental tracks and of course different from the debut. I like this record as much if not more than the debut album, how anyone can say it's no good is just rediculous!! Legends!!!
its is a great song, but there are only a handful of good ones, love spread around, this one and ten storey love song and a few others i cant think of right now, but even theyre not as good as 80% of the first album.
Clean out your ears! and it's "Love Spreads" not love spread around. "Ten Storey Love Song" is the only slightly average song on this album and that's mainly because of the lyrics.
What a load of bollox m8! This album is incredible, as good as the debut just a few years on and change in style. No weak tracks and tears is an instumental master piece!
i love this song, too bad there was an over abundance of shite on the scond album, otherwise there was some great tunes and if the album had done better theyd still be together
can't have that!! its an astonishingly good album!! whats the shite then?? have you heard it or was you just hoping for somthing to be as good and refreshing as the debut.. you're allowed an opinion like.. t'is wrong tho!
music is a gift from god and squire & co perfected what lennon n co appreciated.
