LOVE THIS VID! I've watched it many times and I have begun to build my own set. I decided on 1988-89 Fleer Basketball and follow your 1986-87 model! Pick up all stars graded 9 then go on for the base set. So far Ive got the Pippen,Barkley, Bird and Jordan sticker! Keep on collecting!

@kmj2318 Hi there and thanks for watching my video and for your question. The industry has changed a lot over the years. From the mid 50's until the early 80's there was primarily only one baseball card company -- Topps, and they only produced ONE set each year!. Before Topps in the late 40's through mid 50's there was also Bowman. Bowman also only produced one set each year. You can try doing a google search to find a write-up on the history of the baseball card industry!!

@johnburris Hey there. the 57-58 topps set is one of the greatest vintage basketball sets in the hobby! Great looking cards and an incredible line-up of HOF players from that era. I try (although it's hard) to focus my attention on specific projects. Right now in basketball, I'm going for the 61 fleer set with Wilt Chamberlain's rc. I'm trying to get it in psa 7/8 level condition. In fact, I don't even have a single 57-58 card! Hopefully one day I can get some...

it saddens me to see the tall boy set i had started workin on the set when i was 13 with my unlce he gave me alot of the key cards to the set. long story short completed the set even aquired beat up pack this was all pre ebay like 92 ish. some idiot broke into my house and stole a bunch of my celtics gear. grabbed a havlicheck a separate russel and cousy... after that i lost the urge to complete my 50 greatest of all time rc set. long story short never trust people around ya cards

Do you get your cards graded or purchase them already graded?

I have told you in another post I am not high on graded cards because I believe it creates a hobby within the hobby and inflates prices. But, if that is what you enjoy, more power to you. I just will NEVER buy or have a card graded.

It was a lot!! haha... You can pick up a 69/70 set in decent condition for about $700 -- i thinks it's a total bargain!! the 86/87 set was close to $2K, but the jordan is about a grand by itself. the 80/81 box was close to a grand. Thanks for watching my video and for your comment!!

I like graded boxes because i know the packs have not been tampered with and everything is ligit. If I wanted to bust the box, it's easy enough to cut the plastic open. Thanks for posting a comment!!
