We have a lot of ecological problems that would be solved if we moved toward turkeys and goats. Both produce meat that is very tasty, both have a small ecological footprint, and their manure is much more biodegradable. Oops, sorry to say that--not pertaining to Rooster and Peanut, mind you. They are pets.
I grew up with a few goats in Iowa--we had a farm, and the goats were our pets.

I used to give them 1/2-cup a day when they were young and growing. But now I don't give them any!

Very informative. I haven't had to do this yet. I was a horseshoer twenty years ago, but this is a new game. Thanks for the insight.
