Ok man I really hate graded comics but to each there own. But plz man for gods sake take that Avengers #1 3.5 out of that slab. Whoever sent that in to get graded was a moron. I love your comics though man great collection you have.
@Nosfeast Well would you buy a $700 book unslabbed ? I wouldn't... not when I can't be sure if it's restored or not, making worth about 20 - 25% of the unrestored value. But I do agree, that once it's in the collection, there is nothing holding you back cracking it out of the slab, unless you plan on selling it in the near future and want to get top dollar out of it.
@chromiumcomics Yea I understand doing it for value and investment but come on them Avengers #1's slabbed in that condition is just dumb. That was someone being greedy and wanting to make a comic in bad condition worth more. And that makes things harder for true readers and collectors like me. I would not even buy a slabbed comic for any price unless I was getting that comic to take out and read for myself.
@Nosfeast I wouldn't call an Avengers #1 in 3.5 "bad condition" it's low grade yes, and it's not for investment or value at all...it's for security. And an Avengers #1 in VG- IS worth more graded than it is raw, because you pay for the luxury of knowing the comic you bought is in the advertised grade and isn't restored.
So do you buy all you $500+ comic books raw ? If you do then you are a braver man than me, especially as a lot of the key books sold raw are restored or have a hidden flaw.
@chenbur Batman is the only title that I collect all the ages, GA, SA and BA. Now that I nearly have every single Marvel SA comic and I have most of the Batman SA books, the logical step is to complete Batman all the way up to Batman #1
@chromiumcomics same here i think the old comics are better cause of storyline and plus its classic but me i buy my comics with my own money n im 12 so i dont have that rare comics and mines are from 70's to 90's still im sad :(
@Garyindiana11 I use CGC mainly as a resto-detection service, sometimes I agree with them on grades, sometimes I don't. The 3.5 has a small piece missing from the back, so that one is probably on the money. I thought the 4.0 would have gotten a 5.0
No I decided not to in the end, there were a few flaws which I didn't like. Seller has now put it up on eBay. Under the title "BATMAN #23 Classic Joker Cover" seller's name is "vinylrejected" Easy to find on Ebay. Nice guy as well
i wish i had the money 4 those those r some nice comics urr really lucky to have those my grandpa has quite comics he has 2,000 he has amazing fantasy 15 and decetive comics 27
