You did a really awesome job, they look really clean and how cool that you used sharpies? A lot cheaper then nail art pens.

And for people who actually claim stupid things like "MARKERS ARE BAD FOR YOUR NAILS!"...... they are not touching her nails. That is what base coats and polishes are for. Protection. Putting polishes isn't "healthy" either so anyone who complains better not be wearing polish either or you are a hypocrite. :)

an easier way : paint you nails black and draw white squares in the checkered design or else do withe first and black then ... oh and by the way drawing on your nails with pen or marker is bad :]

No drawing on your nails with marker is not bad. As long as you have a base coat and polish there is no way for the marker to reach your nail. If you think putting marker is bad on your nails mine as well never use polish or nail art pens either. It's all chemicals. It's what you protect your nails with that counts. That's why base coats are so important.

i did mine like:i painted black all over my nails then i used a with nail polish and then i dotted the white next to each dot then i used a clear nail polish and went over the other colors so...thats how i did it but u hav a style and i do.personally i dont like your way of doing the polish because...it doesnt seem so easy it seems like it would take a LONG TIME.

Ppl use eyeshadow, mascara, hair-dye, acrylic paints, nail polish...etc. (I'll bet you use some of those items mentioned too) There is nothing disgusting about using a "pen" to colour your nails. It's just another method of nail art & honestly...she did a fantastic job on showing how it's done. As for "healthy"? Really...if you paint your nails at all, how concrened are you about it being healthy? Considering the chems. in nail polish to begin with.
