I made it and it's really good, but for those who really like Nutella, this recipe could use more sugar, but I do want to make it a bit less sweet than the real thing. I used cashews instead of hazelnuts because it's what I had. Next time, I'm gonna do the real thing.
@sandrodream1 mm whatever , i know from the site its pronounced that way, maybe it was pronounced differently before, but now , on the official site, it NEWTELA. so ill call it that :)
@supercoolio120 nʌˈtɛlə, as by the only recognized definition I have found; nʌˈ, pronounced 'nuh'. Just give me the part after the 'ferrero(dot)com' and I'll gladly search it for you.
Nutella® (pronounced "new-tell-uh") is a tasty unique spread made from the combination of roasted hazelnuts, skim milk and a hint of cocoa. Nutella® has no artificial colors or preservatives. It can be used on a wide variety of breads. For more information on the rich history of Nutella®, click here.
@HaniiPuppy I know, but it would make it closer to the consistency. The only reason nutella doesnt go runny if because the main ingredient after hazelnuts is palm oil.
@doiconfuseyou Actually, here - along with in most countries, it's vegetable oil, which is far better for you than the modified palm oil used in most of north america. I also seem to remember Olive Oil being used for it (on the label) when I was in Greece - although wikipedia lists them as using vegetable oil as well.
@speedyexe I would use vegetable oil, or something with a very neutral flavor profile. A tasty nut oil would be good, but not necessary. Don't use olive oil though!
@liplylips The commercial Nutella might use some form of lactose as a thickener, but I think at home it's going to last a lot longer if you leave any milk products out and stick with the essentials.
Well done

@supercoolio120 2 things:
1:I had to search that text to verify it. Thanks for the link; [nutellausa(dot)com/faqs.htm]. That was hard.
2:That's Nutella USA. In Britain, we pronounce it nut-ella; Italian, it's nut-ella.
So yeah.
