the last episode was pretty weak in my opinon, they should of had at the end of season 9, clark should fall jorel saves him and he becomes superman and the whole season he should be wearing the superman suit, like really we dont even see him wearing the suit for a whole episode which he should have. The last scene of season 10 should of ended with him hovering above the earth in the superman suit and then fly down to earth and there should be a blur then a sonic BOOM as he enters the atmosphere.

Warner Brothers/DC is very strict about have two diverging live action versions of there heroes at the same time... @votin As I explained, Nitroayou doesn't know what he is talking about... the issue is NOT copyright... it is purely DC not wanting competing live action incarnations of it's classic characters. ALSO Clark not wearing the suit has nothing to due with copyright restrictions... He doesn't wear it, because the producers have a specific story they want to tell... If they wanted to they could have him wear the suit tomorrow...

Peterson confirmed that the costume will return and play a more prominent role in the final season, even going as far as to hint that the last scene of Smallville will see Clark wearing it.
I read somewhere that Tom really doesnt want to play the movie Superman. Well, i'll try to look again for the reason. I just know that Tom expresses the real Clark Kent and his struggle to be normal and now embracing the role of a hero.

tom welling twice turn down the offer of CLARK KENT because he doesnt want any SUPERMAN in tights - when the producers let him read the script he was fascinated. Also, from wiki - Warner Bros. Television, Gough and Millar pitched their "no tights, no flights" rule, which would break Superman down to the bare essentials and look at the events that led Clark Kent to become Superman.

@arabianknight86 The reason batman does not appear on the series is NOT a copyright issue. DC just doesn't want two opposing live action versions of Batman. They feel that having another live action version appear on TV would cheapen and hurt the Nolan film franchise.

For example it took a long time to make a Spiderman movie, because several companies claimed the right to make the movie. It could be another company has the right to use batman for tv. I'm not saying I'm right. I'm just giving a possible explanation.

Had Superman Returns been in production BEFORE Smallville was pitched as a network show, the show would never have come into existence. They have said this many times interviews... same with batman... Since smallville is about the origin of Clark Kent and not about Superman himself, Warner Brothers and Brian SInger coordinated with Smallville and the CW on this point.

but on a side note, tvguide stated that terri hatcher will be in this season for one episode...that makes every lois and clark i grew up with (minus returns and the VA's) as guest stars.

They should not end this series untill 2013 or they will ruin everything.
Clark's future is shown in season 9th finale (Salvation).
I think they can bring back Lex but in 11th season, but I don't think it's going to happen.
Lex's future is showned after Superman ascension in 2013 (Hourglass).
When Lex is gonna return will kill almost everybody and start the last Smallville apocalypse after he become president.
